It is always my favorite day of the year when Daddy's little pickle decides she is ready to get up before the sun. Almost always ends with a scene like this....... Normally it is what we call a Daddy / Daughter date.... but this funny looking forked horn of a kid has been sniffing around... -

Another good one in MT!
Still super happy with my success from last week .. but got to give it up for my hunting partner who had to push the bar a little higher. Another super fun night in the elk woods. -

Day off......pays off!
Talked the boss into cutting me loose Friday to try and notch the old elk tag. Morning was pretty uneventful, but when I left the truck at 3:45 bugles filled the air. Must have been 10+ bulls going crazy in the draw I slipped into. Passed on 5 or 6 smaller ones and then managed to use the... -
Bugle Report
Been shutting up pretty early in the am....like 730. But firing back up as early as 3:30 in Central MT. Lots of bulls...lots of bugles early this year. -

2021 MT Antelopes
Kind of a frustrating season to this point that has included some " how did I miss that one " moments... and ended up with a brand new bow to try and get back on track. Stalk 47 (or there abouts) finally paid off with a good one. Hoping to notch the ol elk tag this weekend so I can spend some... -

I didn't go crazy on the finder upgrade. Just a Garmin Echomap 93SV that Cabelas was closing out. It has side scan, down scan, and the built in lake maps. My old Lowrance was fine for actaully marking fish, but beign able to pull up a map of the bottom to find and keep you on structure was...- DANGLER

First trip of the year last night... Bumped a blonde sow with two cubs 300 yards from the truck, so the night was off to a good start. Managed to double up Friday night when I called 3 toms in ultra close...... Was pretty stoked until I realized I was along, with two big birds 1.3 miles form the truck. Wouldn't have been a big deal if I had the Mystery Ranch along... but one over each shoulder all up hill was a grunt...- DANGLER
