Can't agree with you on this one....That buffalo tag is a draw tag. Only big dollars involved would be the horses to get in there. I have hunted with my daughter since she was literally in pig tails. She has drawn some great tags over the years (LE mule deer, LE elk, antelope, ewe big horn...
Since this IS Huntalk... I'll keep mine hunting related.
1. Have hunted from the arctic ocean to the Andes and lots of places in between.
2. At the age of 19 I killed a record book bull, a whitetail and a mule deer with my bow.....all on the same day.
3. Decided it was a real good idea to...
Had to dig back in the old memory banks and only counted the ones I could for sure remember, but I am sure there are a few that are lost to time.... Here is what I came up with that required tags.
DEER- 45 Bucks / 30+/- Does (from 7 states, 60% with a rifle, 39% with a bow, couple with a...
Turns out old Dusty is pretty handy with a knife, and with a couple of strong young guys to hlep with the pushing lifting and loading, we had old Buffy broke down into manageble pieces in short order. A quick sleigh ride back to the trucks and we had it made.
Cassidy is more than happy with...
So at 0'dark 30 yesterday morning we loaded up the sleds and headed back to West Yelowstone., We were unloading sleds right at first light when Dusty came rolling in with news that he just saw a big herd crossing the road and heading back to the park. We only had one sled ready to go at that...
Of course I spent the next couple of weeks chomping at the bit to get Cassidy back over to chase bison, and reports kept rolling in of more buffalo being seen and even some more harvests. Dusty (Red Fox) made a trip over just before Christmas and found some huntable buffalo, but with Christmas...
Day number two of the first trip over was fun but uneventful. We ended up being down to one snowmobile, so Cass and I coverd all the ground by ourselves but even the group of cows we had seen the day before had made their way back into the park, and we didn't even see any of the subdivision...
Now knowing that in the past several years the vast majority of state bison hunters didnt' get a chance to harvest one...... we were pretty suprised to be given this opportunty so quickly. We spent quite a while looking over this group of bison. While there were definitely some big ol'...
My daughter Cassidy has had quite a year. She was able to take her first bull elk in October and it was a dandy! She was also lucky enought to draw one of the very limited either sex bison tags for West Yelowstone, which was lucky enough. But her luck is so good, we even got the snow needed...
Onx offroad works fine on my truck screen but can't get the hunt ap to work.... running Android Auto not Car Play. Gaia maps works great on the screen though
