Might not be the ideal round....but since the price was right.... I was using Sig 180gr V-crown. The antelope shot was on the long side and it didn't open much but did some damage on the mule deer at 75 yards.
I've used a .44 mag wheel gun in the past but this past season i toted my Sig Xten in a chest rig most of the season. Filled a antelope tag early and didnt find a deer i wanted with my rifle so did some belly crawling late in the season to see if I could seal the deal with the 10mm.
I second this... not necessarily the brand bit a puch bait will put more cats in the boat than anything else i have tried. Have had nights with close to 100 fish on the yellowstone.
Windage dial got spun a couple clicks in the pack apparently. Made the 7 mile round trip back this morning to confirm what I already knew..... no bears were harmed in the making of this post. Catch and release bear hunting means I get to keep hunting....
First trip out last night I ran into this guy with 2 hours of light left..... made a play and thought it was wierd that in the middle.of nowhere far from the trail I kept running into boot tracks. When I laid down to shoot there was actually ear plugs laying right next to me.... weren't mine...
I can tell you that my daughter's hunt in West Yellowstone this year was nothing like the slaughter in Gardiner. While I can't say the animals themselves were super spooky, the hunt itself was vary enjoyable and logistically challenging. Should I be lucky enought to ever draw that tag my self...
Have eaten a caribou and a moose tag in AK but those were DIY so financially not as painful.
Worst was a B.C. Grizzly tag I had to eat.... I didn't pay for it but the sticker price was for sure north of $20k.
1. If my lab went to school he would ride the short bus.
2. Will go full on "50 Shades of Gray" on ANY stuffed animal... but has always had a special place in his heart for moose.
3. Legit knows sign language.... like understands it and can actually make a few signs himself. "Please" is...
That kind of makes sense....I guess. He was a good dude... ran into him and his original partner back in the day.
Thought you were referring to the way he went out and saying the little girl might end up that way. Didn't figure you were that dark.
Little known fact. . At age 45 you are allowed to measure from the back of the bunghole...... and a 3.5" shotgun shell is a handy field reference device. Or a 2 3/4" inch shell for those of you under 45.
