    7wsm??

RL-22 will most likely give you higher velocities, but has a reputation for being inconsistent in both temperature fluctuations, and lot to lot variations. I'm always a fan of more temp stable powders like the Hodgdon that you have, or RL-23 if you can find it. As far as bullets, I've had...

Price check on a rem 700 bdl.

Stocks are both the flimsy fiberglass models. BDL SS might have J-lock, depending on timeframe. BDL gloss blue models and ADLs of that era wore sights, but it was rare to have an SS w/ open sights, comparatively.

Lonnie Bell's Classic Country on am790 here in the Yellowstone Valley, but in an old Jeep Wagoneer. Complete w/ fake wood-grain paneling ;)

    Field & Stream

Yeah, I wish I would've saved them instead of the JC Penney lingerie catalogs....oh well, hindsight something something.

Price check on a rem 700 bdl.

Understandable that the guy is trying to capitalize on the waning years of models that were of higher quality, especially with the company's future in limbo. If he doesn't come down, you can always spend that kind of money on a Bergara, which has all the features the 700 should have...

Tapeworm (?) cysts in meat. WWYD?

I’ve found 3 of these cysts in my elk as I’m butchering it. I popped the first two, thinking they were some sort of insect eggs, but further investigation has me concerned. Internet searching and images suggest tapeworm cysts. Have you guys ever experienced anything like this? If so, what did...

Stocky's Stock Accublock vs Greyboe (Outlander?)

I would opt for bedding it, personally. I've used Grayboe stocks in several of my guns, and I bought an Accublock but it is HEAVY. The Grayboe is pillar-bedded, so a skim/glass bedding job would only mate the action and stock together that much better. You'd arguably have more contact w/ a...

Can anyone school me on .300 BLK for white-tailed deer?

As you were skinning it, were you able to find the entrance and exit holes? What did they look like? Did you do gutless, or did you gut it? What did the organs look like? Did you hit one lung or two? All these things would shed a little more light on the performance without just...

Hunting for myself in the high Montana sagebrush

Very good read, and well-written. I love to see unique paths through life being brought together on the same journey of self-discovery that hunting draws out of everyone. Welcome @ S_J ! Looking forward to more of your adventures.

    Public Land Buck (Barely)

Congrats on a well-deserved buck. The ones that come together after a long stalk are the most satisfying, along with the aches and pains.

Really surprised that you recovered 180gr bullets from deer, Trophy Bonded Tip, even!

Bergara B14 & Bell and Carlson

What model of B-14 are you working with? If it's anything other than a standard Hunter, you'll most likely need a varmint profile barrel channel. That goes for both B&C and Grayboe.

Bergara B14 & Bell and Carlson

No, I didn't pay extra. When I bought mine, there weren't options for Bergara. Just Remington 700s. I haven't looked in a while, but if you're selecting a custom inlet, the menu might be charging you for it, but it's not necessary. It really is just a 700 clone, and will drop in. It will...

Bergara B14 & Bell and Carlson

The other option is Grayboe. I put a B14 Ridge in a Grayboe Terrain and Ridgeback.

Bergara B14 & Bell and Carlson

It’ll work, unless the barrel diameter screws it up, like you mentioned.

    savage 110 ultralite

I wonder if yours has the same problem as Chuckin's did, since it's the same caliber. Chambering issue w/ a worn out reamer. His was getting taken care of by Savage. Follow-up explanation starts at 13:45

    savage 110 ultralite

Can you elaborate on it some more? Did you shoot any factory ammo through it as a baseline? Did you send back to Savage? (I would opt for that instead of buying a new barrel and at least see what they say.) I'm also curious as to how the replacement bolt would be any different than the fluted...
