AAAUUUGGGHHH the inevitable happened! I started reading this hunting story thinking, "it's multiple pages, there must be an ending to it...." and here I am, finishing the last post right before the climax.
I admire your perspective and sportsmanship; can't wait for the end!
@Dunning Kruger my OCD (and since I want that camo 6.5CM) had me tracking down an answer for you, and the Savage rep that I got hold of said the 55232 magazine is correct, but that the image hasn't been updated. Hope what he said was true, and hope it helps you out.
Is it this one, then? With the locking tab on the front? EDITED: I think I see what you're talking about--I looked at a video review by HuntBeat Outdoors, and the locking tab looks way different...

Should be that one.

Regarding Roundhill's plans for Remington firearms. I'm optimistic....cautiously optimistic. Although with the rise of Bergara, it might be a moot point. Bergara has pretty much put out the product(s) and upgrades that...
Here's one I hope to take out this season. It's a 1950s (56-57?) Savage 99 EG in .308win that I rehabbed. Picked it up in pretty poor shape, w/ a broken tang, ill-fitted, crumbling recoil pad, and gouges/dings all over. I fixed the tang w/ gorilla glue and toothpicks, steamed all the dents...
It could also be a variable of how the scopes were mounted. A simple strap-on cheek piece (my favorite is the Blackhawk https://www.amazon.com/IVS-Performance-Ventilating-Cheek-Pad/dp/B000MF642G ) can eliminate trying to find that "sweet spot" for your eye lining up to the scope.
Depends on the gun that I'm using my Specwar 762 can on. On a heavy barreled 300, or 308, it was within 2 inches vertically and horizontally, but with my 18" Ruger Gunsite Scout, it's off by 4 or more inches, horizontally.
Could be tight tolerances in the chamber, COAL, ogive of the particular bullet, etc. Most likely the case itself is too long, and the chamber is a tight cut.
I get the daily emails from grabagun, and yesterday's had a camo version of the 6.5cm and I thought it looked really sharp. Way better than the gray/black that they use for the standards.
Legacy is the importer of Howa products. If memory serves correct, the standard and Gameking are the same, except for the Gameking having a Nikko Stirling "Gameking" scope mounted on it, and a Ranchland has a lighter, shorter barrel than both of the standard and Gameking.
Since you already have the S&W Sport, just focus on getting a better upper recevier, and possibly a trigger upgrade. The aluminum lower you already have is sufficient, and anything you might upgrade by going up a tier in quality is going to be in the upper components. Many good names have been...
I ended up getting the new Ruger Hawkeye Long Range Hunter, and am excited to mess with it. I'm steering clear of Hornady ammo until they come out with the 120gmx, or Barnes with the 127gr LRX. Or if I can ever find any Retumbo, I'll buy some Hammers and load them.
