I think WY is much more generous in their nonresident tag allocation than most of the other states. WY has a limit of 16 percent of limited quota tags for nonresidents. I'd be complaining about the other states before I complain about WY guys.
Well, all the other companies rushed and put rangefinding binos out to market as quick as possible, while Leupold took their good old time to fine-tune. So, my bet would be all the other companies can just pack it up and go back to the drawing board for quite a while if they want to compete...
Seems it would have to be the press or a difference in execution between you and your buddy, since he did the loading at his place. You've pretty much eliminated all the other variables. If he lives close, I would go over again, and I would personally load some myself using his press. Then...
I'm not a huge fan of .22 caliber bullets for deer, but for varmints and coyotes, I'd just stick with the 22-250. I don't think there is an alternative with any significant advantages. Don't fix what's not broken unless you are just "bored" with the 22-250 and want to have fun with a different...
My prioritization order:
1) Amount of elk concentration areas on CO hunting atlas in that unit
2) 5 year success rate
3) bull harvest/hunter numbers
4) burns/no burns
5) roadless areas
Your first priority is always access. You have to have a decent amount of accessible public land with...
Just started using the VLD's this year. 2 pass-throughs so far with the VLD's, so I can't say for sure what they look like afterwards, but from the size of the exit holes, I don't think it's anything like what brockel posted.
1,825 acres is nothing to sneeze at. I'm glad the ODNR is making this purchase, and hope they continue to pick up property around the state. Finally, the ODNR is doing something worthy of celebration. Little too far from me though, so have fun on your new stomping grounds! And yeah, post...
I'm not into arguing either. Like I said, in what categories is the .300 better than the 7mm RM? Convince Sdhunters who originally asked the question. By the way, I did have an "except" in there, which happens to be an important category.
I have the 7mm Rem Mag. The recoil is on par with a .308 at tops. The muzzle blast is definitely noticeable, but worth the recoil reduction in my opinion. A sandwich bag taped over the end of the barrel eliminates any water, snow, dirt, etc. from getting in the barrel, so that's not a...
It is very good for what is intended as (a beginner's kit). I bought it as my first setup and haven't found a need to change yet. Is it ideal? No. Does it work? All day! By the way, the Lee Collet dies are the berries!
