I'm really hoping that we do see bears. We've purchased a bear and a mountain lion tag as well. We saw a cat in 2019 when we were bear hunting, but season closed about 2 weeks prior to us being there. I've been chasing a black bear for a while, but that is a whole new thread there ....
I've put...
I'm no expert, but there is a ton of good information all over this site. Sometimes I look in other sections as well and find a lot of great information. Good luck!
I bought a knife out in Montana at a little local shop. The gentleman who sold it said all of the local guides buy Knives of Alaska knives from him. I purchased one and used it to field dress my white tail this year. Worked great. I'll be ordering more.
When I logged in I was in the 1500's. We were actually doing the panhandle unit, but there were about 50 sawtooth tags left.
I think the system could run a lot smoother if they broke it up a little bit. Do elk tag a one day, elk tag b another day. Same thing with deer. I think you'd eliminate a...
I've had that happen with archery. Here in iowa though we technically do not need permission to track the animal, but you cannot carry a weapon on private property. In my case I decided to talk to the farmer before going on his property. He was actually very grateful and said he realized I do...
Hey everyone,
Archery deer season is over for me and I've got a little gap until late muzzleloader, so we're getting ready to get our hunt planned for the panhandle of idaho next fall. This will be my first time hunting elk in idaho. Some of our crew has been before however. What does everyone...
Hey everyone,
Hope everyone's seasons have been going well. I've been really busy with work lately so my hunting season has been short. Very short. Anyways, here we go.
I hunt a combination of private and public ground here in Iowa. For bow season, things start to get interesting around...
I think that you missed the point. He will not carry a balance. I do the same thing. You collect the benefits while never carrying a balance, therefore it costs you nothing for the benefits.
We actually put a little wood stove in. We put a couple rigid couplings with a nipple through the roof, then just have a plug for it when traveling or not using. Works pretty well and it doesn't take much to keep it warm.
Thanks everyone! I'm not too concerned about closeness to the season. I don't shoot too far for whitetails. I probably won't start hunting until October 20-31 either. Somewhere in there.
Hey guys, I had been asking opinions on some bows a few months ago. After a bunch of research I went and did some shooting today. I shot the bowtech revolt, Hoyt axius, and the Mathews vxr. All of these were very nice bows. The big decision came down to the axius and the vxr for me. The axius...
I figured I'd lean towards the Mathews anyways. I have the Mission bow currently that I purchased 4-5 years ago to see if I'd like bow hunting. Turns out I'm addicted now so it is getting to be time to upgrade.
