Since you're new to the game here is fair warning, they are Canada Geese. If you want to lose credibility in a goose hunting conversation, call them "Canadians". Hence walking birds comment!!
So much about about the decoys you use has to do with the particular geese and area you are hunting. If you are hunting unpressured honkers on the X, you should be able to kill limits all season long with 5 dozen flats. In other regions of the country, you may never shoot a goose the entire...
Incredible hunt to say the least. Congratulations to Olivia on her first bull. I'm sure this overshadows yours, but how cool for them to come on back to back days!
Fantastic!! I loved reading this. The earned animals and men who respect their wives enough to include and hunt with them, this story has it all. Great job and shooting Irene!!!
Great read and a true testament to patience bringing success. I'd guess most guys would have punched that tag a few days earlier! What a daunting task to be looking at an animal that large and just 2 of you to deal with him.
I'm right there with ya! 8 days until I leave. I used to live 30 minutes from my favorite drainage, now I'm 600 miles away. I can't wait to be back there!!
No need to over think it. Use your full or xfull and shoot a couple shells so you know what patterns best. Keep your shots under 30 and you're golden! Have fun.....it's very addicting.
I love before and after shots! Great buck. Persistence and patience paid off. I can't imagine seeing that buck coming your way and entering your effective range.
Break the Washington license plate stereo type and refrain from killing young bucks!!
Good luck and have fun. Your timing should be perfect and plenty of it to find mature bucks.
