Many block management areas are great. Transversely , many are out of state magnets and complete **** shows. Timing of a hunt can make an experience completely different as well. All in all its a very cool program for hunters and takes a lot of effort from the state!
How many people think killing an elk is easy?
Every person I know who considers killing elk easy, doesn't really know what hunting them is like. They simply shoot elk, on private land, while others pick off animals from the same herd. Certainly not a hunt whatsoever.
To the OP, there are...
I wish I could say the same. Except the part about the girlfriend, my wife wouldn't appreciate that!!!
I set my rifle next to my pack this afternoon, id rather continue carrying my bow. But it's now time to put meat on the ground, the fun season has ended!!
Best of luck and quality shooting to...
Great Job Sam!!!
It's so much better how it all played out. You were right, it makes for a much better story than "saw antelope, crawled, shot, dragged, went home". It was all just meant to be! I'm glad Sam hung in there and hopefully learned some very valuable life lessons!
You are EXACTLY the type of father kids need. Your all about then and their success which is just awesome!
The smiles and desire to hunt those kids have is what all us parents of young kids hope we can instill in our children!
Great Job!
That's a ridiculous wallow!!!
I completely lost the elk I was hunting so it's on to antelope with my wifes tag this weekend. Best of luck! Thanks for the pictures!!
Schaaf, don't be disappointed! You learned a great lesson, got your first and killed a better buck than a large majority of most of the bucks I've seen guys kill in Montana. Get the big boy next year!
I'm enjoying the conversation and seeing people's styles. It's gratifying to know I'm utilizing most of the things I'm reading about!
I thought it was happening this morning. The elk have been non existent for me the 2 times I've been able to hunt this week. This morning was very quiet, not a...
I don't want to admit how many Bulls I've failed to finish this year. It's been an amazing experience, and I've learned a lot, but I've yet to make it happen. I've drawn my bow 3 times. Once to end the journey with a cow, and the bull who would not show himself stepped out, busted. Once on a...
Not a happy Friday at all. I drove most of the night to SEATTLE, WA. I literally ran from bugling Bulls as it got to dark on me. Stuck here until Sunday, can't wait to get back on the mountain!!
