    Close call

    That was close Tobey. I don't have to worry about Hypothermia down here. It is the heat during the summer. I have walked out to the pens and found them dead from heat exhaustion. Glad it turned out OK.

    Weapon of Choice???

    I like my .220 swift for coyotes. It does an excellent job w/ no hide damage. I like to use my bow on bears. I haven't chased a pack of hounds though, only hunted them from tree stands. I am sure I would like some kind of pistol for chaseing hounds.

    Boomer's Hounds

    George, I run coyotes and deer w/ them. I run coyotes in the pens mostly. Do some outside hunting also. During deer season I will run them a couple of times a year on deer.

    Can a bear snarl....

    I was watching National Geographic or something one time and they said a bear couldn't snarl its lips to show its teeth. They said he could open his mouth and show them but not snarl like a K-9. Any truth to this?

    1_pointer, I would guess 30 yards is going to be a max. Like Chambo said, there is only one way to find out. Shoot it! I killed my first bird w/ a 20 ga.

    Favorite Shotgun for Turkeys

    Duster, I dwell in Greenbrier but do all my hunting in Searcy County. I grew up on the Buffalo river. I just can't make myself hunt down here. I love it up there. I know what ya mean about being to darn pretty. I don't know if I could take it out and treat it like I do my 870.
