Tobey, Glad you figured out how to post pictures. Now you have no excuse for not posting any.... Great looking hounds and bears. That bottom one looks like a monster compaired to the bears around here. I realy like the scenery in the top picture. That is beautiful country. I would say a twelve...
A coment made buy CTH got me to thinking. How many years have you been hunting turkeys and what got you started?
I have been hunting turkeys since I was 14 so that makes it 12 years. Some guys stopped by the house one day and sked my dad if they could hunt our farm. My dad told them they could...
Beards-N-Spurs, I don't guess anybody here has tried them. If you find out something please post it in here. I am kinda curious about them also.

Mike, First of all welcome to the roost!! There is a great bunch of guys here.
You have been given some good advice on where to start. I would start out w/ some type of friction call. They are the easiest to learn and they are very effective. I would also buy a mouth call and start practicing...
CTH, Should I hold them dogs down here until the contest is over to ship your winnings back w/ them????
Wyote, thanks far your entry. I will post it when it arrives.
I received the calls that Arkie55 donated yesterday in the mail. Let me tell you the winner is going to get two very good...
OK GUYS, Arkie is not lieing when he says they are good! The call he sent me could be the easiest mouth call I have ever used. It has great sound. Even I can sound like a turkey on it... That says alot!!! If you are interested in a good mouth call contact Arkie.
Chambo, I have to have two or three new calls every year. Not because I need them, I just want them. I have already got two new ones this year and plan on getting some mouth calls from Arkie.
Markt99, I store my mouth calls in scope during the season and put them in the fridge w/ toothpicks...
CTH, I hunt alot of public land. There is one thing to be said about public land birds....They are a real trophy no matter the size of the beard. They can get real smart being chased so much. Some times the fight w/ the other hunters is just not worth it. Other times I can go out and not see...
George, great hunt! Sure wish my hounds were doing as good as yours. We turned loose Sunday and had one really short race. Have no idea what happened to it. The dogs just lost it in an open field and never found it again. I guess its just sorry muts. I hope you like your new hound. Good luck w/...
Markt99, I deer hunted the Taladaga (sp?) National Forest a couple years ago and I saw several flocks of Turkeys. It is real thick and you cant see very far but, If you would like to know where I was just let me know.

George, we have some pretty good hills here in Arkansas and several coonhunters use theTracker sytem. They say it works great. It is made in Northwest Arkansas. I agree it is very pricey.

Wolfer, You aint a kidd'n when you say them little fellars are fun. I think rabbit hunting is a great way to start kids. You are also right about the space they take up. Plus they are the friendliest things in the world. They will jump through hoops to please you and they will hunt right along...
