Savage 99 or an older marlin for the more traditional look.

    Tikka t3?

The supplied rings are crap that shift under recoil, leupold makes a set for them. I prefer the matte black hardware on a ss gun, the ss never matches.

    So........................

This is a redbox night in the making; like hangover two I'll have to see it but... The saving grace is that no sequel will ever be as disappointing as Boonedock Saints.

    Done, good heads up.

Looking for advice about Shooting Sticks

Mid length gun mounted bipod, instant accuracy increase.

    improving goose spread

Big foots are a great way to go. I make silohetes out of plastic board and wire with a "rough" paint job. Adds volume to the spread and by turning them different ways it adds the illusion of movement.

    Cartridge length

I generally find having the bullet backed off behind 1-4 thousandths is were you want to be. I start with them touching then back off and see what happens. Once I get a sweet area I do a bit more focusing in. As mentioned; make sure they fit in the mag and measure ogive. Watch your pressures if...

    Tikka t3?

Must used rifles are hardly used, great way to save money for optics. If the exterior of the gun is well kept, that is pretty telling of the bore. As for accuracy, is essentially the same gamble as buying new. If the dealer is quality, they will likely offer a short grace period to ensure they...

    Binoculars

Get 10x42's. The diamond backs are a solid choice but if you can get onto the talon hd's you'll really be set up. Optics planet has them on sale and free shipping, perhaps you can find a used pair if your not in a hurry. Binos are and investment and can make the difference on a hunt. Get an bino...

new to western hunting elk and mule deer

GPS with landowner map(phones die, pack extra batteries), good binos such as a midline vortex, and a solid pair of boots(if nothing else the danner pronghorns). A rifle you can comfortably and accuratly shoot to 300yrds and some camo that you layer. You stated you have a pack, just make sure...

    Tikka t3?

I own a few calibers of the tikka line and they all are shooters. I've replaced all the recoil pads. Tikka barrels are a 3 shot guarantee, could bump up to the sako a7 for the 5 shot and a few other features. More coin though. Perhaps a ruger compact, browning micro, or rem 7; tikka will out...

    Belmont stakes

Alydar was a good horse but a continual first place loser. Certainly no Secretariat. Didn't deserve his nasty death, street justice should have returned the favor.

    Belmont stakes

They already bent the rules for him to run with nose strips. Few years ago the same panel of judges ruled against them but cc's owner threatened to pull him from the race. I would have said pull him. Then all the do is complain about the schedule. That horse lost before the race started, for...

Only thing to screw that horse was the horse and perhaps the jockey. Good horse but not a great horse.

You want upset, talk to the owners of Mine That Bird. They have real cheap stud fees.

He won't be so upset when he sets the stud fee.

    Belmont stakes

Love the "humble" breeding of the horse(compared to most top horses) but the owner/trainers pissing and moaning about nose strips and race schedule is very off putting. The crown is what it is because of what it takes to wear it. Heavy is the crown.

Any race fans? Not surprised it ended as it did, mixed feelings on this outcome.

    Any Crossfitters on here?

I've incorporated some of the ideas and exercises into my workout. Same with the Pilates stuff. I wanted to get more flexibility and endurance without having to focus solely on them. I still like to lift in the traditional sense; but have made a concious effort to do some low weight high rep...

    Boulder ex-cop poaching conviction.
