Been interested in custom knives for a while and so I began researching putting one together. This is a first or hopefully a few in the future - my 8 year old helped make it, it’s his first hunting knife.
One of my hunting buddies (I’m posting for him as he is not on this forum) purchased these Schnees Beartooth II insulated boots, wore them on three hunts, then decided he needed a half size bigger. The boots are in great shape. $150 plus shipping.

I’ve never built a rifle in my life from different parts - is that a thing for a .22 rim fire? Seems like it would be a fun little project if that’s a thing… or to google actions and stocks!

Took the plunge and got a Mark IV in a target. I am working to find the ammo it likes best and will be installing a red dot shortly. I picked up a nice holster off of Etsy. Hope it makes a nice little grouse/ squirrel gun.
Have you tried swinging by a place like Scheels and trying on all their boots in your size to get the best fit possible across all boots, and to compare stiffness of different boots to on another?
Thanks for the words of confidence! I am going to put in the time to train her and see what happens. Worst case I have an amazing family dog, best case I get that plus a partner in the field. My 8 year old has a goal of the dog retrieving a goose for us this fall, so hopefully we can get to that...
