Have been looking for the last several hours, found nothing, not a single drop of blood. I don’t think it hit the shoulder blade, I hit one in the shoulder before and the sound was very distinct, never heard anything like that this time. Still don’t understand what stopped the arrow though.
Has anyone hit a deer in the spine with an arrow and not had it break the spine - dropping right there?
I shot a whitetail doe this morning, 15 yards broadside, the hit looked a little high but definitely behind the shoulder blade. The Wierd thing was the arrow only appeared to go in maybe...
One thing I didn't see mentioned yet. If you're bow hunting, you likely have a release hanging off your wrist atleast part of the time, that will really get in the way trying to draw a pistol quickly.
Specifically Lewistown area…
I’ve moved around the state a fair amount, been here in Lewistown a little over a year now. Always happy to meet anyone new to hunt, fish with, etc. also just to know someone in the area to call if I need help tracking something, being color-blind, blood on the...
Thanks for all the advice everyone. I played around with the rest a bit last night and got it shooting much more consistent. Still probably not quite perfect but its getting there.
Thanks again!
It seems to only be with the broadheads. Field points were hitting good at all distances. Broadheads hit same as field points at 20, but then about 4-6” left at 30 and 40.
Very well could just be my form…
Just switched over to my broadheads and getting my bow sighted in for them. Everything is dead on at 20 yards but when I back up to 30 or 40, they’re hitting to the left. My sight doesn’t allow left-right adjustment of individual pins, only the whole bracket. What else can I do to correct...
I’ll vote for the revolver. The only man I know who once killed a grizzly in defense told me this about what kind of gun to carry for bears, he said “you only need 2 bullets, one for the bear and the other for yourself if the first one didn’t do the trick!”
I have never had a problem with a bitzenburger jig. I think it’ll do anything you need with the original nock receiver, I can’t imagine any need for an “upgrade”…
I got the elk survey in the mail a couple days ago.
Most of the questions I thought were pretty good, the only thing I found strange was that the first question asked which Region you hunted the most for elk over the past 5 years, and then said to answer all other questions based only on that...
My daughter is in third grade and we also have been surprised at the amount of homework. We’ve talked to the teacher about it and haven’t really gotten anywhere. She’s a good student and a quick learner but I’m afraid the amount of work expected for this particular teacher is going to give her...
Every year prior to hunting season my daughter picks out a “lucky sticker” from some crafting book of whatever that I stick on the stock of my rifle or limb of my bow. They eventually wear off but there’s several still on my rifle, I’ll get a picture sometime.
