I'll give a third vote for the burgers at Ted's. Canyon creek and kitchen sink burgers are unique and delicious. The grill in the rocking R bar always used to have good burgers, but haven't eaten all there in a while, don't even know if it's still going
No luck so far for a single first choice for me. Drew 900 antelope and my third choice Elk B. Good luck to all for the tags they were lucky enough to draw, be them first or last choice!
Currently have mostly KUIU clothing and have been very impressed. Have tried on sitka and really liked the fit, but went with KUIU because comparable products were less expensive. Quality to me seems even, my brother uses sitka and we have been using for roughly the same time period and both...
Had a very similar issue with Kenetreks, the boots were really comfortable but they would literally rub my heels off. Nearly could not finish several hikes/hunts due to this, was incredibly painful. Talked with kenetrek and they fit me in house as I had not bought directly from them the first...
I believe Kuiu is still making the Attack pant in solid colors. I wear the attack pant 99% of the time and it works great from Sep. 1 though January, when really cold I'll wear some moreno bottoms, but usually if I am high activity, they are just fine. I live and hunt in western Montana.
When noise is the concern, I think kenetreks win. (They have to be the camo material though) The kuiu's can be quiet, but mostly because the fit tightly on the leg. They will be more noisy against brush and such and if you do rub your legs together. The material on the kenetreks is soft and quiet...
Kuiu gaiters work well. I have gaiters both from kuiu and kenetrek, both are very well made. The Kuiu gaiters seem to fit tighter, but kenetrek gaiters, at least the camo ones, are made of a much quieter material. Also a note on the Kuiu down pants, they do work well inside a sleeping bag in...
I have the Notherns and have nothing but good to say about them. I wear them when it's cold and there is a lot of snow. I've hiked in them quite a bit and find them to be quite comfortable. They get a strong recommendation from me.
If it's still there Fat Burrito is an awesome little dive spot for monster burritos and Corona Village was hard to btop for good authentic Mexican food.
