My shooting has been horrible
To some extent I think due to not practicing weekly with ammo shortage.
Th e re isn't enough time or room to list all the ways I've found to miss a bird
But I've come to the point where most resolve around just not relaxing taking your time and swinging the gun.
I guess times have changed. Not to long ago taking a kid opened a lot of doors. All my kid are grown, and still hunt with me. But I learned to be careful when their young. Make it all about them and spending whatever time they want to. I almost turned my daughter off on elk hunting, but...
I spend probably a month during most winters where chains never come off all 4 on old truck so hoping this thread go somewhere. My understanding is it's not just an issue of clearance, but torque on front end components.

Oh man this is horrible. Lot of waterfowling history down the drain. Some good friends used to farm spuds around tule lake. Every year hunted it during late 70s. Hope this isn't permanent.
If you really want to learn to shoot a recurve, I'd focus on shooting for a long time very close focusing on form. Don't worry about hiting a target or groups. You don't shoot a compound the same as recurve.
I personally would shoot for a year before hunting, in the right hands it's a deadly...
I don't think there many today that don't appreciate the anters.. I know plenty who focus on filling the tag, horns are just a bonus not a priority.
There is alot of hunters who completely focus on cows primarily due available access they have, There certainly is no right or wrong in it.
It'll work, I place them in spot where I think the elk will see a small portion of the decoy. I had em get focused and just trying get a better view, give an opportunity. Good luck and congrats on the tag.
