I don't think it has to be "semi-live". A lot of interesting things happen on a hunt that are not part of harvesting an animal. Close encounters with a species you are not or can't hunt is just as exciting. I think of a spring bear hunt in Northern Idaho several years ago. I took an...
Randy, I just watched day 12 of your hunt. Loved the series as it truly portrays what most hunts actually are, "hiking with guns or bows". But you can't beat the scenery and other wildlife you saw. I have one week of bear season left and have yet to see a bear, so you've got me beat. Look...
The difference you are getting is about the thickness of a couple pieces of paper. Hit the range and don't sweat it. You're not doing anything wrong. Take a dozen bullets and just measure them. You'll see different readings on both lead and plastic tipped bullets.
Tell those boys to stay away from my fishing hole, I'd like to catch something too:D
Took my girls through that country a few years ago. I doubt I would ever get tired looking at that scenery.
Nicely done. I remember visiting my Grandpa out at Ft Peck was I was 7. We were catching sturgeon like that below the dam. Grandpa had my brother and I convinced we were catching baby sharks.
I had an Arctic Fox 811 for my short bed Chevy for 9 years. It was heavy but extremely comfortable. It was great when the girls were small and we would camp more often but the last few years we didn't get out as much and the only time I would use it would be Elk season. I sold it last year...
Very cool!! I grew up in SW Wisconsin. Every deer season Dad and the guys would head out after Thanksgiving dinner for Black River Falls for the rest of the season. I couldn't wait for their return to hear the stories. If they would've ever thought there would be elk roaming around there...
Here's a link to an app. It says National Park maps but you can download the USGS maps for the entire country for free. USGS usually have all the old roads.

Always wondered why we didn't have a viable population in the state. I know there were some around Hanford years ago but hadn't heard much about them in years.
Nice fish! How's the water level doing? If he's still around I'll be making a trip to Glasgow for Grandad's 100th birthday. Always interesting to see what changes around Ft Peck.
