Don't buy them, they are horrible....this will leave more for me to buy;)
They are virtually all I use and have never experienced an issue, accurate and perform the same as 1st's.
My daughter used that bullet on a nice sized mule deer a few years ago. It's a .40 cal bullet in a 50 cal sabot. I think we were around 80 grains of 777. Dropped that deer in its tracks.
I will go with the opposite of what has been recommended. I prefer 8x42's when I'm hunting the timber or river bottoms. I like the wider field of view they offer and the appearance of being steadier. I do have a pair of 10x42's that I'll take into more open country because they will give me...
Unless something has changed that I haven't heard about, make sure you have the Western ignition kit that exposes your cap. If you're hunting in Washington, try the 300 gr SST with 100 grains of ffg Triple 7. I have taken a couple of elk and know of around 7-8 elk taken with that combo...
Dougfirtree summed it up. I have two Kimber rifles, both the classic model with wood stocks. One is a .300 WSM, the other a 7mm-08. The 7mm-08 will get used 95% of the time. It is a pleasure to carry, shoots flat enough and the cartridge is more than capable for anything the lower 48 has...
Got it downloaded and played around a bit while grilling. So far it seems to be a bit more user friendly when using different features. I'm heading up in the mountains this weekend, out of cell coverage, so I plan to download the area I'm headed into and we will see how it does.
Here is a 250 grain from my .35 Whelen. I took a Wildebeest at about 125 yards quartering away. ThePartition is on the left. That's the only one I've ever recovered. I think it's about 70% retention with a muzzle velocity around 2450 fps.
Nice! I do an annual trip for Sturgeon out of Astoria every year. It's fun to land the big ones but it would sure be nice to be able to keep one again.
I remember taking that road 41 years ago with Mom, Dad and two brothers in Dad's pickup. My brother and I road in the back of the truck on an old van bench seat Dad had bolted to the bed, under a canopy. It was 4th of July weekend and they closed the road behind us. We came across a girl...
