Luckily haven’t come across bear in the backcountry and carefully set up camp to keep them from where I sleep. But I do carry my Sig p365 just in case.
I did the same prefetched blazers and run have had good success running the Max Hunters in 4 fletch, helical with my blitzberger. I’m going to the Max Stealth this summer...but had great fixed blade flight with my the max hunters, might be hard to change.
Made myself a 2 person, has a nice thick floor and zero punctures in my thermarest. Weighs 2 lbs 2 oz with stakes. Really happy, light, keeps me dry, tons of room to sort out gear in the rain. Set it low if it’s cold, higher when it’s warmer for more air.

Went out Monday with my son and got my limit of redheads (a pair), he tried at a few birds (redheads, bufflehead) I got to land for him. But the one he shot and knocked down flew away. Not much else was flying other than redheads on open water here, sometimes scaup but didn’t see any.
I’d try a variety of bows out, find which fits and feels best. If your local shop sells Matthews they might have Mission, they are great bows for the money. Last years bows go much cheaper than this years so you might be able to save some coin that way.
