I'm shopping for a new pair of binoculars. Right now, considering the Leupold Wind River, 8X42 roof prism. Any comments on them, or others in that 200-300.00 range?
Nice Pic's, thanks for posting them!
I have an old friend from high school who lives near you, in Fromberg. Went to his wedding in Billings years ago.

Nice Pike Thumper!!
Yeah that's a UP'er suvival kit alright.
Yoop, that July salmon fishing sounds pretty good as I look out the window at 6" of fresh snow.....
Plan on taking the new CamCorder on a caribou hunt this fall and starting to think about how to carry it in the field. We'll be hunting from a camp and had thought to put it in the day pack with the water bottle, lunch, etc. Also noticed Cabela's sells a camcorder pack that you wear like a...
Curious what type of permit systems other states have on black bear. In Michigan we had over the counter tags until the early 90's. Then they went to a random draw, where about 7000 of 35,000 applicants were successful each year (thanks to the anti's, the bear #'s were fine as it was). Last...
Thought I'd share our experience a few months ago shopping for a camcorder. We were looking a a Sony digital 8. The model we wanted was running 899.00 EVERYWHERE we looked, Circuit City, ABC, Sears, you name it. We decided to look around on the net and found a couple sites that will "search"...
Nice pic BW, thanks for posting. Hang out here anytime!! I've heard of Prince of Wales Island, where is it exactly? Sounds like an adventure!

Looking at getting a game hoist for the pole building. The rope/pulley ones are pretty inexpensive, but I've heard they're a pain because the rope won't stay on the wheels. The other thought is a chain hoist, Cabelas sells a couple different ones. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Being from Michigan I can't speak with much authority, but it does sound like the griz are doing OK
The caribou outfitter we're hunting with in NWT this fall had to shoot one in his camp last year.

I've only hunted them a couple times but plan to do more. The system here in Michigan is set up now so you're only likely to draw a tag every 3-4 years. Ontario is close though and you can still hunt there in the fall.....
Oscar - the 600 pounder I mentioned in the other thread was taken with...
Oscar didn't tell me this job doesn't pay union scale!!
But the bennies are great! Oscar I know a guy in the UP who took a 600 pounder last year and gets big ones at his baits on a consistent basis.
I'll send you the app when they come out, you should at least bank a preference point...
We're hunting NWT this fall, and can shoot wolf and wolverine if we see em'. Sounds like the wolverine are somewhat common up there. Anyone seen a full mount of one? Or know how big they run? I'm thinking that if we get lucky enough to get one, it would make an awesome mount!
