Tobey,
I don't charge the way most outfitters do. I charge $200.00 per day of hunting and a kill fee of $1,500.00 for lion. For bear I charge $200.00 per day and a kill fee of $1,000.00.
The reason I charge more for a lion hunt is because they are so much harder to find than bears. Of...
OK, I think I got the first picture fixed. Sorry about that, I rearranged my album and forgot to change the link. Great story KW! Looks like some rough a$$ country. I wish we could train them to tree in some nice gentle country, close to the road would be nice too!

KW,

Here is a picture of a lion one of my hunters took last year. We hunted hard for four days on foot, horseback, and 4x4 before taking this cat on the fifth day of his hunt. He took the lion with the bow in the picture and was extremely happy and proud of his lion. He has hunted elk, muledeer...
Bcat,
I hate to say it, but I call BS on you!! How can you tell the difference between a male and female bobcat in the tree? I have treed a few in my hunting career so far and it is usually hard to see the CAT in the tree, much less tell what sex it is.
And to say that you have seen SIX...
Buckshot,
Great to have on here! We need more houndsmen! Post some pictures of your dogs and lions. I checked out your web site and it looks like you have been very successful with your hunts, very nice pics. You don't really eat the lion's heart do you???? lol
Good points above, glad you...
We'll do Chris. I am going to call early next week. Thanks

I carry a .44 mag for bear and lion and a 22-250 for coyote. I like carrying the pistol as opposed to a rifle for the same reasons Cuban gave. I carry the 22-250 in the truck only, if I see a yote, I whack him, or try to anyway.

George,
That sounds VERY good. Last year I paid $2,700.00 for mine although I am required to have 1,000,000.00 of coverage. We also do trail rides, wagon rides and such. Can you email me the name of the insurance company. I hear mine is going up even more this year!

Boomer,
Very good!! Glad you were able to share your pictures with us!! Those walkers look like some great dogs. Thanks for showing them to us!

Buzz, I have treed a few lion and have never had dogs kill kittens or hurt any lion for that matter. I am sure it has happened, but not very often. I have had females and cubs tree in the same tree though. MD4M, you are right, this IS A HOT TOPIC! There are as many opinions as there are...
Yup Bcat, sure have! It is amusing hearing their story later on when they can't figure out why they did not see elk! LOL It usually goes something like this, "We got up at 3:00 this morning so we could beat the crowd up here, but the elk we watched last night must have moved! I think another...
Bcat, I agree with you except for one thing. I know you said it was dusk...... so what? I have done lots of riding in the dark and it would not be the first time I unrolled by bag under a tree. You are right about hunting public ground, if you see a bull like this, you better get after him...
Yeah, I think you guys are right. Maybe we should have that type of quota here. Only a certain number of females can be taken in an area and only a certain number of males. The preditor callers are not going to like it though. I guess that is more reason to use hounds in hunting them...
Heya Cuban,
You are right, there are not too many books on the subject. The ones I know of are "Meet Mr. Grizzley" by Montegue Stevens, "When the dogs bark treed" by Elliot S. Barker, and Ben Lilly's books, not sure of the titles. I really enjoy Barkers books, he is from northern NM and quite...
Bcat,
Depending on the situation (am I hunting for myself, am I guiding a hunter, how far are we from the elk, what is the likelihood that the elk will still be there in the morning, what is the weather like) I would head back to base camp, get our sleeping bags and some grub and go sleep with...
