Just got back from the cabin

Just got back from the cabin
Even though it was too hot we did see a few Bears. We spiked out 3 nights. What weather. We paterned a nice tide flat for 2 nights waiting for the right time and on the 3rd night the wind was perfect. Chuck moved into position early and the 338 spoke at about 7:30 pm. Combo black bear and blacktail on Prince of Wales Island
I am headed for the cabin this afternoon. Chuck Turner an old partner came up after Mom's funeral to check where I have been hangen for the last 25+ years. He is a Nam vet .... 'Seal / UDT' .... and now lives in Indiana and rides with the Nam Vets Harley MC. We will look over some Bears.- muskeg

Would it be reasonable to say due to the rain there were probably fewer bears taken this year and next years population would be looking good? Not necessarily. The kill seems to be growing at least by 10% a year no mater what the weather. Skip says when they bring a head and hide in with one...- muskeg

Don't go for fall if you want Bear meat. It is barely edebile even in spring most of the time. Remember for your fall plans that the Bear and the Deer are 2 different hunts. I don't know of any guide law that states how many hunters a Guide can take at once. There are many 2 hunter 1 guide options advertised. It's how many Goats would you want to take out of any given area. Goat hunting is not conducive to a large base camp type hunt. The room is not there. Even...- muskeg

Hey Muskeg..
We just like to hunt. And have the SE jungle kinda figured out. But !!!!! Since 1 Sept we have had one nice sunny day and glanced the sun on another. There has been three 60 to 80 mph storms.
