I have the rtic 52 ulta light as well and have been very impressed. I keeps ice almost as long as my rtic 65 and weighs half as much and are fairly cheap.
I am fortunate to have a friend that makes dehydrated meals he lets me use most of the time. When I am buying store bought ones, my go to is always mountain house lasagna and then peak refuel granola for breakfast.
This would be amazing but im probably a little partial since I live within a few hours of this area. I would hope the limited entry elk tag would at least help with limiting pressure and I would support mostly walk-in access.
I think bear meat is highly underrated. Slow cooker shanks make great taco or BBQ beef meat. As Randy mentioned Hank Shaw's barbacoa recipe is great, I plan to do a bone in front shoulder that way in my turkey roaster with my spring bear.
I drew an Idaho unit 59 tag, Im in a similar spot where I have solo packed out several elk but know very little about moose hunting other than I see them all the time when archery elk hunting in Montana. Thanks to all that have posted in this thread, there is a ton of great info.
