    Thanks for the encouragement Cush! I will likely mount a Leuopold 3Xi 3.5x10x 40 on what I buy. Most tables show a 140 grain bullet for the 7mm. Is that the round of choice??

    Looking at getting a Kimber Hunter. Favoring 30.06 but wondering if the .308 or 7 mm a better choice. Somebody told me 30.06 might be a little much for the light rifle. What are your experiences or opinions. Intended for mule deer. Thanks for any input.

    Hauling Meat Inside A Pack

    I often haul meat inside my Alaskan pack. It's in game bags and put those in plastic bags when I remember just for the pack out and then inside the pack. Just soak the pack in cold water when you get home, maybe with a small amount of bleach, and thy clean up fine.

    I saw it a couple nights ago. Need to have an understanding of the times and interactions on fur traders, Indians, etc to appreciate the movie. Good action. May make you hope you aren't attacked by a bear, if you don't already hope that!!
