I would just mention in conversation that you're still waiting on the results. You'll let him know when you get them.
Personally, if I knew it had CWD, I would have no problems getting rid of the meat. Don't really like the idea of wasting an animal, but it's not worth any risk to me either...
1. Whitetail deer - I grew up hunting them, and there are many many memories associated with them, so I can't ever see them being topped for me
2. Shed hunting - In some ways shed hunting is my favorite, but I don't think I can quite rank it above the deer. I've learned a lot about various land...
I'd probably go with 7mm-08 since I already have one I bought for my wife and getting another one would be good so I could use the same ammo and either use it myself or have one of my sons use.
If not that, the 375 HH is intriguing.
While I really appreciate the moose I have, most of my fondest memories are hunts I have shared with my dad at our home property. If I could only have one mount, I would choose one of the whitetails from these hunts since it represents more memories than anything else. They are all special to...
This.
I just bought my son a fishing pole for his upcoming birthday. I thought I'd get him a really good one. It broke within 5 minutes of putting a reel on it. It never saw the outdoors. I guess I didn't realize how fragile expensive rods are. Never again. Hoping I'll be able to get my...
Great area for big bucks and lots of deer. Should be good hunting within an hour or a little more. Whitewater was mentioned. A giant comes out of there on a fairly regular basis, but it is definitely a heavily hunted area. Personally, I would focus on other areas, but that's me.
Similarly...
Finally...some pictures in the thread! It's photos like these that keep my hopes alive!
I will continue to buy points as long as it doesn't constrain me financially in other more important areas of life. I like to keep my glimmer of hope since I don't know what the future may hold. Each...
"Don't stop believin'! Hold on to that feelin'!"
I keep telling myself to give up, but I can't make myself do it. If I were in your shoes, I would stick with it. Worst case, you're out some money with no moose tag. I waste more money than that every year on other crap. Best case, you get a...
Hunting whitetails at home in MN is my #1, but that isn't a draw tag, so my one draw tag would be a CO or WY moose tag. CO would be preferred, but it would be nice to get out of the game in WY.
Sounds like you need to figure out your (or your wife's) priorities. If it's not worth ruining your plans for whatever tag you would draw...don't apply.
Wow..that's bad. As many shots as he was allowed to take and miss before getting it and getting an additional gun handed to him so he wouldn't have to reload, I can't see how this was "fair chase". Disgusting.
Depends on the situation. I've done it several times, though. Mostly without even realizing it. Buck I shot this year was wounded, but I didn't know it at the time. He showed up 30 yards behind me on a scrape. I never got to see him walking, otherwise I would've likely seen a limp. I was...
