    We got ours in yesterday. First two choices were McAlester AAP. The rest are probably like the elk and antelope apps and really don't matter. Sounds like your draw odds improve a lot if you apply for doe and cow tags but if I only get one shot, I want it to have horns.

    I use OnX on my iPhone and never touched my regular GPS on my last trip to CO. The Earthmate app that you use to communicate with your InReach device also has the capability of storing maps for offline use and I believe you can get landowner data on it also.

    I got a good deal on a Vortex Razor HD in the Cabelas Bargain Cave and burned some rewards points on my credit card for it. No out of pocket expense. I no longer use this one and figured I'd send it on to a good home. It has served me well.

    If you can be still and use the sun and terrain to your advantage you'll be fine. Gun hunting is certainly easier from the ground than archery but both are certainly achievable.

    Anybody else have issues searching landowner names? Nobody I search pulls up anything. I've looked at a name on the map and entered it into the search page exactly as it's spelled and still turns up nothing. I've tried First Last and Last, First and neither works.

    I don't remember the technical term for it but I read an article on it several years ago and they also called it "pipe zero". Basically you choose a "pipe" diameter, say 8", and there is a certain point where you can zero your rifle and it will hit somewhere inside that 8" circle all the way out...
