They claim they don’t do that but that was my first thought as well.
Since that Hunt I’ve learned to process my own so if that was the case it won’t happen again.
Yeah I’m confused by it. The ground we don’t mix with anything else, 100% antelope and it all tasted great. Tenderloins were great. But that first roast was terrible.
We cooked it the same way we cook venison roasts.
Shot my first ever Antelope this fall and we have eaten the tenderloins and a lot of the ground in chili, spaghetti, and burgers. All has been phenomenal.
Yesterday we made a roast and it was super gamey. It was bearable with a lot of ketchup but not good at all.
Why would the loins and...
I guess my fear is that as Antelope Hunting keeps getting more and more popular that second choice tag might become a first choice tag and I’ll miss out and not draw it.
2019 I drew a second choice tag and got my 1 point.
I made a landowner connection and plan to keep hunting this unit for the foreseeable future. Trouble is I can’t decide if I should keep applying with my second choice and hope I draw to keep building points I can eventually use for a trophy...

Crazy idea, but I’m considering packing my lone wolf into the oak forest for a squirrel hunt.
I’ve only been deer hunting for two years now and interestingly both my bucks were shot on November 5th at 8:30am.
Today 8:30 on the nose and last year 8:36am
I’ll put in for points for deer, antelope, and elk in Colorado and Montana.
I’ll put in for the draw for Wyoming antelope and possibly deer, points for elk.
Back home it’s always spring turkey with 3 tags. Whitetail with a few tags, and all the ducks and geese I can knock down.
Also gotta...
Shot a doe today and asked a friend who used to be a butcher if he would show me how to do it.
Man, I don’t think I’ll ever get the hang of it to do it without someone holding my hand.
Tell me it gets easier!
As a newer hunter I do a ton of E-scouting and share points that look interesting to me with friends who are more experienced hunters for feedback on why a spot might be good or bad. Where they think bedding might be, or even best routes to enter an area.
It has been invaluable with helping me...
