I've been using Slick Tricks for years, either the Vipers or Mags in 100grs, and haven't had any issues with them. As someone else has posted, don't over think it, there are plenty of great broad heads out there and most are over hyped.
Mono-metal bullets really shine in the accuracy department when they're pushed as fast as possible. For myself, I've found that with same weight bullets and powder charges, I typically get around 100fps more out of the Barnes TTSX, compared to a Nosler BT or AB.
Hawaii & Arizona are the only 2 states that don't follow DST. At one time, it served it's purpose, but now in this day and age it doesn't. I believe it was in the New England Medical Journal a few years back, where there were a few studies done over the years that showed how DST was unhealthy...
Working on some loads for 270, 30-06 & 300WM using Hammers, also working into the mix a 18" .308 build, I'm at 6.5lbs, with scope. I know really boring calibers, but they work, and work well. Biggest issue is finding time to range test, either there's a "honey do" list, bad weather or other...
Believe it or not my King Charles makes an excellent small game dog. Sounds strange I know, but never had a dog so eager, she does pretty well at retrieving squirrels and rabbits. When I take her out for squirrels, she'll sniff around and if she finds one hiding in a tree, she'll just sit and...
I've done well for myself, started out in the early 90's on New Holland & John Deere, have moved on since. As for pay, depends on the area you're in. I'm out east in a union shop, he will never be without a job unless it's his own choosing. Right now there is a huge demand for heavy equipment...
I listened to this very podcast yesterday, I was a bit surprised as to the content though. I mainly hunt alone, and over the years I've come across hunters from all walks of life, religious beliefs and ethnicities, BS'd with them, helped a few recover an animal, swapped some good hunting info...
So Weatherby announced it's newest cartridge to bear the family name, the 338 WBY RPM. Not much out there, but what I could find, is that it's made to work in their Mark V Backcountry 2.0 line, and duplicate the 338WM in performance. Shooting a 225gr. bullet at @ 2800fps. Thoughts?
For what it's worth, Browning does offer a 1in8 twist for the 300WM on some of their X-bolt rifles now, and as others have stated, right now, 300WM ammo is a lot easier to find than 300PRC. Good luck with whichever you choose.
