    Litter amongst us.

And here in California the granola crunchers got some of the wilderness areas shut down to horses because the horses were pooping on the trails. Makes no sense why someone would do that.

A bit of a an crappy day in a horrible year......

We thought the shipping containers were fireproof also. Not always. We lost a cabin to a wildfire last year and relatives had a shipping container on their property burn everything inside when the wooden floor caught fire.

Is Nov. too late for CA black bears?

As mentioned before, they do migrate to find food. We saw three bears in one spot at that elevation in Northern CA. in Sept. one year. Choke cherries everywhere, Bear scat everywhere. Went back at the end of October and there were no bears and no fresh sign at all.

Beau knows life - Ten days in Wyoming deer camp.

Doesn’t get any better than that. Congrats.

Deer and elk on the same night? Sure. Why not?

I've always said, " once you get it all packed out, it will be worth it". My daughter in law killed her first buck last month down a super steep mountain. First thing she said to me when I showed up to help her and my son pack it out was "I'm sorry". It took us 7 hours just to get it back to...

Worst thing to happen to your rifle while hunting

It’s embarrassing to admit, but I bought one of those laser bore sights and you guessed it, I left it in one time while sighting in my Browning A bolt 300 WSM. Luckily I had a few weeks before a Wyoming hunting trip so I had time to buy a new rifle. Had the A bolt made into a 243 WSSM for the...

    Crispi Boot Stretching

Doesn't sound good. I had a pair of Schnees that were just a little to small and asked a boot repair shop in Reno if they could stretch them. They told me it couldn't be done. Hope you do find something that works. If so, please let us know.

Washington Pronghorn / Can they jump a fence?

Cool video. I’ve seen them jump a fence before also, but like you said they seem to prefer to go under them.

    More Wolves = More Water

That’s the biggest propaganda crap since the Yellowstone miracles from their wolf reintroduction. 1st they say that more wolves would equal less animals so more grass and more water. Umm, I think more grass means less water as it would take more water to sustain. Then they say it would help with...

Have you ever NOT felt like hunting?

Can’t imagine what your going through. Hopefully things will come around for you. I had another reason I didn’t want to hunt just last week. We were hunting in Wyoming and the weather turned brutal. Just couldn’t keep warm. First time in 48 years of hunting that I just wanted to go back to camp...

    "A Fine and Pleasant Misery"

So true. His writing skills put you right in the story. “The grasshopper trap”,” my first deer and welcome to it” were a couple of my favorites, but “the night the bear ate goomba” was my all time favorite.

    California Bans Trapping

It’s not just CA. and trapping. It’s a Nation with activists that want to stop everything most conservatives stand for. Trapping, hunting, they call coyotes song dogs, and fishing. They call the fish in the ocean sea kittens. Working on sensitizing the sheeple who outnumber us to jump on their...

    Bigfoot

A few years ago my bother and I backpacked into a lake a small distance into the Warner Mtns. in Northeastern CA. On the second day a few others had hiked in for a day of fishing. About dusk when it looked like everyone else had left we started hearing what sounded like fist sized rocks being...

    Nor Cal predator spots

Almost any National forest land or BLM has em. We even see tracks all over the place when we’re up snowmobiling. If You want to get out in the open desert, then head towards Doyle and try up on Fort Sage Mtn.

    Conspiracy in Cooke City

The article makes it sound like Cooke City about dies in the winter. I don’t think so. It’s the biggest snowmobile destination in the west.

    Browning X bolt

You might not have time, but I struggled with my Browning A bolt (I know, not the same gun) and tried several different bullets and powder brands and couldn’t get any better groups than what your experiencing until I had a muzzle break put on it. Man, that changed everything. I went from six...

MS to MT or Bust!! Covered Trailer or Topper

Wow. That turned out great. I was kind of shocked with everyone saying just a topper would be plenty of room. But when you said your not staying in a tent it should work great. Three to four of us make a 2000 mile round trip to WY. Every year and when we take a wall tent and cook tent with...

If you have the v6 motor, don’t worry about the timing belt. They don’t have one. They have a chain.

    binocular harness/pouch

I’ve used the badlands with the magnetic closure and have loved it. Haven’t tried anything else though. Some people don’t like the noise it makes when it snaps shut, but you can get used to closing it slow and not make any noise. It does have some pockets for licenses etc. and has enough...
