I'm not clear on what your talking about, are you trying to remove material left from boiling or trying to whiten the pedicle? I submerge the entire pedicle while boiling, but I don't put any peroxide in the boil. I haven't had the antler fade in boiling water. After its boiled good... -

I think if you need picks and scoops you haven't let it go long enough. When I did mine I could shake the brains out. I don't see any problem with doing it at 180, I used a boiling pot and had it up to a boil. I don't remember how long it went for, but it was several hours. I use dawn... -

In NM you can get unit wide landowner tags. I'm thinking about non resident cost, which was $600+, definitely not as much for you, but I'd still never give up opportunity to hunt. We hunted CO this year, got into elk, never saw people and never burned a point...- CMF

New guy looking for some NM elk units for 2021
If you want to hunt elk, I'd have a back up plan, the unit your looking at is only 11% odds last year. It will likely be less this year, especially with multiple threads on the unit on multiple forums. We got lucky and drew NM in 2019, not 52, but even with high odds unit in our choices we... -

Why not just buy landowner tags and hunt somewhere less pressured? It doesn't make much sense to me, people advocating for price increases for the general public when they have the funds to find better opportunity. Most people just want an opportunity. I don't think price is a way we should...- CMF
