    Season Opens August 30th

    I plan on going over this weekend. I haven't bought my tags yet. Is there a waiting period if you buy your tag after the season starts? I am going over to scout for my november deer hunt but figured I should have a couple of tags and a rifle with me. Probably bring my howler and some calls too.

    Griz gun?

    If your looking to cut weight both Smith and Wesson and Taurus have lightweight 44 mags. I have the Taurus Tracker. I woulda preferred the Smith but didn't have the extra cash at the time. the Taurus shoots pretty well. If you get a lightweight 44 make sure it's ported.

    Tire Chains

    Chains are normally for getting out, not getting in. Of course i haven't always listened to my own advice. If you get stuck with chains on your gonna be there a while.

    Bipod or what?

    I usually us a tall Harris bipod that pivots. You can shoot over lower brush/sagebrush when sitting but can still shoot prone. The pivoting is nice for little sidehills. My thought is that if the game is far enough to need the bipod, you'll probably have time to set up. Last year I used...
