6 days until the season opens and wanted to take the time to say thanks. I am new to Deer hunting and am learning every time I step into the woods. I have gotten some great pointers, tips and advise in here during the off-season and feel like I am more prepared this year than I have ever been. I...
Del,
Thats great. My boys are 10 and 8 and both shoot now. They both have bows and it is a great stress relief to go in the back yard and wear a 3d target out together. I was a hard ass with them and set their bows up with a TM hunter rest...the arrow falls off from time to time but it forces...
TN has restrictions on calling "out of season". Some folks enjoy seeing the wildlife as much as we do harvesting it. The fact that it is public land gives everyone the right to utilize it within the parameters of the law. It sucks that your chances are limited by the activity but the law allows it.
I bought my PSE dressed out for about $500. Bass pro and Cabelas have some nice rigs that are for the most part ready to hunt. We have a Bass Pro here in Nashville and the guys in the archery department are good for the most part. They dont work on a commission (that I am aware of) so they will...

Anyone in middle TN have info on available hunting land? The development here is crazy and it is getting tough to hunt...unless you enjoy running them over on the highway.
Elk...Im not sure what a Buckfish is. I like to hunt and fish so I put the two together. My other two hobbies would have made a terrible combo....Womenbeer?
What is the best choice for a climbing treestand? I am primarily a bow hunter and would like something comfortable but more important...SAFE. Any suggestions?

Thanks BlackTimber. I am still a rookie in every aspect of hunting. I have managed to blame my misses on three new bows in the past three seasons. I bought a new bow last year and plan to stick with it.
Shoot the same weight year round. I can tell you from experience that changing your setup can drastically change your success rate in the field. I have managed to miss some nice deer in the past three years due to those last minute changes. I shoot the same setup in my backyard that I shoot in...
