Ith,
I called Bob and he did'nt know of anyone. Like I said, her tail is not bobbed which makes me question her pedigree, but besides that she looks like the real deal. I know she could also be a possible wirehair. I'm just going off of pic's I've seen on some Pudel web pages. Besides the...
I have a female that appeared at my house about 6 weeks ago. I'd say she is 1 - 2 yrs old just by how she interacts with my room mates puppy. She is absoluelty a great indoor/family dog. Loves kids and will play fetch forever. She seems to have been through some traing because she knows some...
G-man,
Here's a link that might help with your scounting needs. Lets You see first hand pics of an area. The only problem is, for some reason, there are'nt aerial photos available for a large portion of Idaho. Hope it helps.

I'd only seen a couple of badgers in the wild before I moved to Idaho. Those suckers are really thick around here. See them all the time. Plenty of whistle pigs to support them.
Remember us when you're out there Ith. I know what you mean about the dog. My GSP always gets excited when I get ready for work (military), but then I just leave and she has no clue where I'm going. I just tell her "not today girl, not today". She loves it just as much as I do.
For all of...
Come on guys,
Gots tooo be sommme edumicated peoples somewheres whos can find a cure for them that thar disease(poor speach and slurring are classic signs!)
Good one T-Bone,
I'm not worried about rocks, thorns or cactus. I'll be on top
If I'm lucky, all of her moaning and yellping will call in coyote! Better bring both guns!
Thanks for the luck gents but it's not really needed, I have a sucessful hunt everytime I go out (regardless if I shoot birds). But actually, my wife is headed out with me for the hike, so maybe I will get lucky. Nothing like a little wilderness nookie!
Great story Few, and congrats on the oinker. Joker sounds impressive. I grew up in the Gila valley so your post brings back memories of some great times. How do you cook your Javelina? The only way I like it is pit-cooked and then made into green chile. Good Eats!
Only 3 days left in Chukar/Hun season I plan on going out on Wed. to chase them around one last time. Went out yesterday and had a great time. Got 4 Chukar, 1 Hun with six shots (no doubles). In fact the 4 chukar all came out of the same covey in about 5 seconds. I'm not a covey...
Thanks Ithaca,
That's basically how I clean pheasant. I'm still not very good at disarticulating the wing where it meets the breast, so I usually cut the wing about an inch back as you mentioned. I've also tried cutting the breat out, but by doing so I also miss a little meat.
Thanks for the...
Whats the best way to clean chukar. I seem to rip some meat when I try breasting them like a quail, but they seem a little small to clean them like a pheasant. Just wondering how everyone else does it.
Yeah Elkhunter,
As I37 mentioned, there are flatter areas to hunt chukar, but around Mt Home, the only places I've found is on the steep slopes. You almost feel like you're elk hunting again but it's a great time. There's plenty of birds up there but when they flush they often fly across the...
Headed to Rattlesnake creek (above Mountain Home). Actually planned to hunt above Toll Gate but the weather was to bad, zero visibilty. "Chili Dog" found birds within the first 100 yards, a huge covey of about 50 birds. Birds flush to the high rocks, so up we went. Spent the next 3 hours...
