    TX Panhandle Mulie 2003

Texas has some great mulies. Here is mine I took in 2001 near Pampa. <FONT COLOR="#800080" SIZE="1">[ 12-19-2003 12:29: Message edited by: chambero ]</font>

    Heading Out Tomorrow

I leave for Gunnison tomorrow night. I'm hunting cows in Unit 54, probably in the upper Soap Creek area. The weather forecasts are all over the place. What do the local forecasts say for the next few days.

    Colorado wildlife heading for precipice

Thanks for the detailed response. Sounds like Colorado needs a new governor. As bad as it often is, one benefit of our bureaucratic agency processes is that it usually prevents political heads of government agencies from doing too much damage before they get voted out at the next election...

    Colorado wildlife heading for precipice

Colorado Oak: After reading the article briefly, it sounds like the DOW is pushing some things that helps hunting, some that don't. It doesn't sound like either side is consistently in our favor. What specifically do you not like? For example, I would be skeptical of a study that tries to...

    Mountain Horses

The guy is a very good friend of mine and is asking $2K for the horse. I'm actually buying it for my four year old to learn on. The horse was his dad's last horse and he is no longer able to ride. You can get good quality ranch horses down here in the $2 to $3K range, but the high end...

    Mountain Horses

How old do you guys run horses for riding packing in and out in the mountains. I know it really depends on the animal. My real question is, I am about to buy a 17 year old QH for my little boy. He is in great shape, but can't go all day long at a hard pace (roping, cutting, etc) anymore. I'm...

    Kill Prognostications!!!

My only out of state (Texas)trip will be with a cow tag in Unit 54 in Co. I will be pretty disappointed if I don't fill it. Other than that, I ought to get a pretty nice whitetail on my family's place near Wichita Falls (maybe bow, but probalby rifle)plus a bunch of quail and pigs.

Good to Hear From A Bunch Of You Again

I'm headed to Unit 54 with a cow tag for the first rifle season. This will be my first time trying that unit. I haven't got to go since 2000. We had a new baby boy last year and I had to prioritize and stay home. I'm saving up points for a buck tag in Unit 21. My dad used to hunt up there...

    Texas Mule Deer

We grow em in Texas too. I got this one year before last in the Panhandle during a year when I couldn't head out west. This is my best mulie to date. I can't wait to get to Colorado this year. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid75/pe8c7fba5f2c90213770bb1d283c2a4e8/fb523424.jpg.orig.jpg

    West Elk Wilderness

I'm hunting Unit 54 (cow tag) in Co during the first rifle season. Does anyone have any info they would share. It will be my first time there. Info I have so far has me thinking about the Soap Creek area and the Baldies. It seems like a bunch of you guys probably used to hang around...
