Glad to hear that you had a good hunt. However yours is the first and only good review ive seen on him. What's the expression, a broken clock is right twice a day. I hunted Craig, CO also and will agree the deer are plentiful there. We went 3 for 3 on public land and had the same experience...
I have a buddy who is heading to Denver for a his daughters Volleyball tournament in late April and he's contemplating extending his trip to try a turkey hunt while there. He's hunted turkey a lot just not in Colorado. It looks like he's just missed the draw deadline for limited units. Does...
Reference CO, what did you hear about that unit that doesn't make you excited? I hunted there for mule deer a couple years ago and saw literally thousands of pronghorn everywhere I went including on public. PM and I'll send you a couple spots where I saw the most.
I used to use Molutrie cameras exclusively on my property but they would last just until the warranty ran out and then die. Too expensive to only get one season of use out of them.
Ive only been western hunting for a few years now but have hauled out a couple mule deer and an elk on a 2200 and have no complaints. I havent used other high end packs but in my opinion its more comfortable than my molly pack was in the Military. No complaints and plenty of storage.
I wanted to update this thread in case anyone else searches for the name Greg Merriam.
I had a close friend that went on a semi-guided hunt in October. They opted to go with an outfitter since his hunting buddy on this trip was an older guy and wasnt physically able to hike that far in. They...
I'd also be interested depending on the price. I have a harvester now and move it back and forth between my rifles. PM me if someone else hasnt already claimed it.
In my opinion its worth every penny to get a suppressor. I personally hate wearing ear pro while hunting. I feel like it blocks too much sound to wear them all the time and I typically dont want to add an extra movement when an animal comes out trying to put ear plugs in. It does make the...
I have a Swarovski Z5 5-25x52 on my main hunting rifle. I have used it for a few years now and love it. It lives up to the hype and is insanely clear and amazing light transmission. The only disadvantage I've ever found is the adjustment range of the turret system of this line. It only...
Waterproof snake boots is always a huge plus here. I've routinely seen snakes out until November and even December before. Thermacell for warmer days. Id layer light and mid weight so you can shed layers as it warms up.
Before you get rid of the 270 you have I'd get the limbsaver pad for $30 and try it out. I know you had another thread talking about recoil but you'll be amazed how much more enjoyable that rifle will be and in my opinion the ammo will be a lot more economical than a 6.5 unless you reload...
I dont mean this to sound bad but why would anyone buy this used when you are charging the same price they sell them for new online? Also there are normally discounts online that actually make a new one cheaper than what you are selling it for.
I have a Tikka T3 lite in 30-06 with synthetic stock. I'll say it kicked like a mule when I first got it. I consider myself fairly pain tolerant and being 200lbs I was surprised how much it would bruise my shoulder after one box of ammo at the range and would make me flinch after the first few...
As others said I could only see it having an affect if you have very small clearance and the scope cover is actually making contact with the barrel. I have the Tikka T3 Lite in 30-06. It shot about 1 MOA when I first bought it using higher end factory ammo. In an attempt to make it more...
