I make sure my fire is burning hot and clean before putting anything on the smoker and then keep the temp up and feeding the wood nice and easy. That doesn't sound PG, sorry. :)
Here in the North Woods Of Louisiana, I love all steak from any animal. One of the best is not steak, but somewhat not even close, lololol. Alligator cheek meat, its like steak medallions, cook as a kabob with veggies. Sorry I could not find a picture from the last time I cooked some. I will...
Beautiful animals. This past hunting season is the 1st time I have ever seen a red and gray fox while hunting in the same year. The gray fox was gorgeous, it ended up having a stand off with a doe.
I am big fan of William Johnstone and I read his books in the order he writes a series before going to another one. I keep a checklist updated with all the books listed by series. He puts out a new updated list each year updated with all of the new releases in each series.
Wonderful deer and a lot of good meals ahead. Weight wise, the biggest on the hoof we have had killed this year is 163 lbs. The piney woods of North Louisiana makes it tough to get deer to 200+ lbs.
