    What's your favorite duck?

Hard to pick a favorite. I love a fully crested Woody Drake but they're not rare around here. I covet the pintails pictured here and would also love a widgeon. Just don't see many of either. I've let a lot of mallards get away trying to get the one or to drake pintails mixed into the flock...

    Shooting at Reelfoot

Sad deal at Reelfoot. It's a place I'd like to go hunt mostly due to all the waterfowl history down there but most story's I hear about it anymore are negative. Deer can make people crazy. Ducks can turn people into a-holes.

    Getting Ducks/Geese to Finish

YES!!! More decoys is always the answer! I struggle with it all the time. I really want them to put their feet down but the dog pouts if she sees to many fly away.

    Getting Ducks/Geese to Finish

I would disagree with your thoughts about movement. Outside of movement and concealment you might try adjusting your decoys in different patterns, losing the spinner, loosing the geese, setting up a jerk string or setting up for a cross wind. If I have ducks consistently flaring and I'm...

    Saving a Muzzleloader

I'm no smith and don't have any real experience with s situation like this but I think I would soak it a bit and then clean it up as best you can with out going crazy and then shoot it. What comes next would depend on how it shoots and how the bore looks.

Did I miss the memo on Ammunition stock-pile?

I have some stuff up on FB market place. Have had to guys try to barter ammo. One of them had .223. I ended up taking some of it in the deal. My wife takes that as further confirmation that I'm looney.

slow Duck season in the South?

I think in a lot of areas the birds were/are running late. I saw more mallards from a tree stand one December afternoon than I did duck hunting all of November.

Going Soft - RV Advice Needed

I could tell you all about how I just sold our travel trailer and never intend to buy another one but that would be a waste of time, unless you really want me to start preaching.:) It did serve it's purpose but I'm glad it's gone. We're going back to tent camping. I'm about to pull the trigger...

    Will Trail Cameras become Illegal?

From what I've seen about this the issue isn't so much about their use as a hunting tool as it is about protecting the resource. Sounds like they are concerned about all the people disturbing and stressing animals at watering tanks during dry periods. Also saw mention of how much complaints...

    Leaving CVA Wold loaded

Leaving it loaded is fine. I don't know what the weather is like in the piney woods but if it's cold outside i suggest leaving it in the truck or an unheated garage to avoid condensation issues.

    2020 late muzzleloader season

Nicely done. Congratulations! That's a great buck! I've been having little in the way of action myself. I really hate this ice crusted snow!

Did I miss the memo on Ammunition stock-pile?

I live with in ear shot of my club. Use has actually been down. I chalk it up to people either hoarding and afraid to burn it or guys like me who would burn it but can't get enough of it. Just can't bring myself to hoard but that may change.

Depublicize, Deglorify, Demonitize (anti-self promoting of hunting group)?

I still like the show. It and Randy's are the only ones I can watch. I only watch what's available on netflix or youtube so I have'nt seen every episode but when they've made a bad hit they've always owned it from what I've seen. What I don't like is they're turning their brand into another...

Depublicize, Deglorify, Demonitize (anti-self promoting of hunting group)?

Thanks for sharing. I needed a laugh and am now following. I don't doubt his sincerity but I do think he's having some fun too. I remember his brother alluding to his feelings on his last appearance on Rogan. I'm a meateater fan but I do find myself getting more and more uncomfortable with...

Rifled slug gun recommendation for MA?

If you're not going to hunt muzzy season buy a shot gun. If you're not going to be hunting in deer drives buy the savage. If you're going to get a pump or auto loader and think you'll ever use it for birds, especially waterfowl, buy a 12 ga. If it's going to be a dedicated slug gun I'd go...

    2020 late muzzleloader season

Good luck. I'll be out myself tonight. Have an any sex tag for muzzy and a antlerless bow tag I would like to fill still. I agree that the weather plays a big roll in getting them moving during day light after shotgun season. Wish it was colder. A warm up after a bunch of cold can also get...

    Campsite privy

A shovel and plastic coffee can for the TP is about it. A little walk and full squat really helps to get things moving.

    Iowa Late Archery Season Regulation

Crossbow can be used on Late Muzz tag only. You can also use a bow or pistol of the approved caliber. Archery tag is still good but as others have said you have to have Doc's exemption to use a cross bow on an archery tag.

    Winchester Permacote???

Anyone have a Winchester with Permacote? If so how's the coating holding up. I'm looking at the SXP specifically. It will be a duck gun so I expect it to get beat on. Like the looks of the permacote over full camo.
