Rookies? Lol. I guess it was going to be my first year hunting Colorado and that would make me a rookie! I ended up not going because of family obligations. Hopefully, I can eventually make it out there to hunt. Colorado is a beautiful state!
Thanks for asking. I wasn't able to make it over to Colorado to hunt. I had some family obligations come up and ended up not going. Hopefully, I'll get to go another time.
I like camping near Brown's Hole. It's got good access to lots of the area. Do you have a 4 wheeler or side by side? The trails on the Fishkake have 50 inch wide restrictions, so 4 wheelers fit.
Here's my phone number. You can call me if you want to and like I said I've got a few guys that...
Hey bro! Just saw your message. Congrats on the tag! I'm super stoked to hear that you have a tag this year. We've had a ton of water this year and the antler growth has been insane! You're going to have e so much fun up there. What can I do to help?
Jesse
Have any of you heard of Crusader Forge knives? I've got a couple of customs in the closet made by that guy. Unbelievable knives! I keep thinking that I'm going to sell them, get them out, look at them, then I rebox them and put them away for a few more years. Can't seem to part with a good...
My plan is to go hunt places that I've never hunted before. I read the draw odds and knew that I could draw this tag. I have some friends that hunt near here (season 4) and killed some nice bucks, so because I can draw this tag - and it's near the area that I want to hunt eventually, I can use...
Hey all,
My son and I drew Colorado 2nd season deer tags for Unit 33. I'm reading a lot of hate for the unit online and wondering if anyone here has some experience they are willing to share regarding this unit?
Thanks,
Jesse
It's illegal in Utah to occupy the left lane if there is a vehicle behind you within two seconds. It's impeding traffic, and most LEO'S I know LOVE to cite it.
Congrats on the smart move! Wish I would have went to the feds, but I didn't know what I didn't know. If you get down into southern Utah, hit me up and I'll buy you a cup of coffee. I'd love to sit and visit. Maybe I can learn something!
Congrats on the upcoming retirement. I'm curious why you're doing 30 years instead of 20?
I work LE in Utah as well and am eligible to be done (with 20 years of service) in 7 months. I'm planning to retire at 50 years of age with my 20. Would you mind saying why you went 30? You could send me...
Great lists guys! My spouse and I did this exercise just a few weeks ago. We had a few things in common, but most of them were pretty close. I was grateful that she shared her list with me, and now I have a traget to shoot for to fulfill her list. Here's mine in no particular order...
1- Hunt...
Some of you have incredibly interesting lives. Next time you're in southern Utah, hit me up. I'd like to buy you a cup of coffee and visit.
Here are 5 things that I've been a part of that my friends haven't done.
1- Backsquatted 365 pounds at 45 years old. (Goal is 440 at 50 years old)
2-...
I think the guy who said something about Lake Bonneville is dead on. The great Salt Lake has been shrinking for 100's of years. Don't forget, it was once attached to the ocean, and began shrinking, hence the high salinity.
I don't want my tax dollars spent on studying ways to help the Great...
My spouse and I started following DR about 15 years ago. We have a large family with 7 children (2 adopted). We live in a modest home that should be paid for in the next two years (God willing).
The first couple years, we were super intense and paid off 29k in 19 months. I think we made a...
We had a blast and I hope you and your dad have a grea adventure. We found elk by getting high and glassing, then spending the next day getting into a position to get a shot. It was a lot of fun, and hiking around in that gorgeous country was good for my soul. Good luck in 2023!
We did. I was able to hunt for 5 days before I had to come home for other commitments. We found some tremendous bulls, and had an opportunity. Great hunt!
I'll be up your way next week for the rifle hunt. I'll gladly come help you if you need help. Hit me up, I'll send my phone number as a PM. I've got two strong boys with me (28 & 16 years if age) and they'd be happy to help too.
Jesse
Alright guys, we made it back home to Southern Utah. We had a great hunt! We were in elk almost everyday. I got to watch my 16 year old son at full draw on a 4 point bull at 12 yards. That was super cool!
We are going back for the rifle hunt, so hopefully we will see some more animals. Like...
