Had an afternoon to kill so I went down and found 7 bulls in the trees. These two bigger bulls were sparring for a good hour!!! I'm about 1500 yards away but you get the idea.
Cool to see all the bulls sizing each other up before the big dance!!!!

I lived in Montana for 12 years and never dared to get 10 yards from the truck anywhere on that map.
ESP to the north. You know........where the warm water is. The ratio of women in bathing suits compared to those who shouldn’t be wearing bathing suits are like the odds of drawing a...

Wlllm, that could go round and round. You could argue that if you really put enough effort in then you wouldn’t need your friends “luck”. Is there an effort police that I don’t know about who get to reign down judgement if a guy hasn’t spent enough nights in a tent that fall?
I’m not trying...
Hypothetically, what if you had a breaks bull tag. Your two buddy’s went up to a pc of blm to hunt deer in your unit. They see a really big Bull bedded right in the middle of the blm and he’s not going anywhere soon.
They happen to have cell phone range and call you and send cell pics of...
Bipod
I vowed I’d never be a bipod guy. When I used or saw my buddies used theirs I never saw it a good thing in the field. Not when actually shooting but everything leading up to that.
I ran across the Hatch bipod. Fell in love with it. I put these Caldwell bases on all of my...
I’ve been debating on using mine with the 143 Eldx for my bull tag this fall. I just got a 7 mag that shoots the 162 grain eldx just as good as my creedmoor and I just feel better about it.
I love the creedmoor but I don’t want to have a big ol bull somehow shake it off and make me “that...
I actually agree with mt Muley. Go try a Sierra, Nosler or Barnes. I had a 7-08 that would not shoot a 150 eldx. Then I tried a 140 accubond. Bingo.
My 6.5 creedmoor loves the 143 eldx. My 7 mag loves the 162 eldx.
You just never know.
Main beam length diff. Extra point on the main beam diff. Back fork diff. Lots of inches deducted from left to right. Difference in brow tine length. Mass difference. Plus there’s a 2” cheater in the back of one of the antlers that digs into the ear. All deductions on a typical...
Can’t believe I’m agreeing with greenhorn but I am. There’s only one way to guarantee you don’t have a catastrophic event. Out of the chamber. Until ready to shoot.
I went coyote hunting once with a buddy. He went to shoot a Prarie dog on the way back to the truck. He had an AR15...
More elk
Another evening and morning. 63 bulls found. 15 of which should be over 300. The best one was this bull with 6 brow tines and devil points. I’d say 6 of these are opening day no brainer bulls for me!! One had down turned brow. Another had a goofy right main beam.
Go get a used pair of Swarovski 10x42s and a tripod. Then rent a Swarovski spotter. Don’t go without some good glass. Again. Don’t go without good glass. It’s not just clarity and low light gathering even tho that’s important. Eye fatigue and color fidelity are also important aspects.
178 on the right. 172 in the left. So long as the left one is not missing a “g”.
Here’s three bucks that should be close to 180. Nothing beats a big mature mule deer imo. I have a tag for the unit these three bucks are in but I would guess I’m not the only one out in the hills...
