Spent a good part of Saturday shoveling a 5 foot thick windslab off part of the roof, yesterday busting through waist deep snow to remove an ice dam (roof leak).
Over it, leaving for the Keys in a week.
The first three powders I tried in my .270 are H4831, H4831, and H4831. Then I messed around a bit with H4831. Found a pretty good load with H4831, and decided to stick with it.
Seriously, if it's a .270, why look elsewhere?
We have 3 dens within walking distance of our house. They're a fun critter to watch, I don't know if I could drop the hammer on one.
I don't have that problem with coyotes or feral cats.
Temp insensitive powders aren't. They're "less" sensitive.
My findings match many others: Some cartridges are less sensitive than others with the same powder. And sensitivity is not linear with temperature.
Real world testing will ultimately answer the question of how much.
