Can anyone confirm that the secondary draw results were released? Is CO still on schedule to release the leftover list 1st week of August? They seem to be very on point this year.
I drew a B tag during the initial draw and am looking forward to seeing what’s on the leftover list.
Thanks
There is a finite amount of energy on earth. As we populate, it takes more energy to keep humans and their lifestyles alive. Habitat and other species suffer. Horrible truth. How do we manage the damage?
To be specific on how we can shape our local, state, and national landscape for hunting, I...
I left Williamson county, TN in ‘99 and moved to Leadville, CO because my home county was the fastest growing in the entire US. I couldn’t get out fast enough. Now Nashville is just a MiNi Los Angeles. Ruined it.
After I got here, I earned a Mickey Mouse outdoor Rec associates degree and guided...
Drove over wolf creek yesterday. You could definitely ski off the peak.
Rivers are full throttle right now, meaning an F load on snow still high.
I’ve hunted 76 many times. I second what Doug said.
High country holds some deer but its much more suited for elk. If you see a 4 point, shoot it
Same. Every year for the last 10.
I return the B tag if successful during A season to the leftover list so someone else can get a shot
WLLM, you’re the man....thanks for more info than we had before. 30k or ground, this is forward progress
Of course.
Think about a drop camp. I can’t remember the name but there is a new outfitter up soap creek.
They seemed nice and know their business well.
Good luck and be safe down there. I hope they get it out soon.
We’ve already had 3 lightning strike fires get snuffed out here in SW CO. 155% snowpack doesn’t mean anything anymore. It just sublimates straight into the sky.
54 became OTC last year. 2nd and 3rd seasons. LOTS of animals got taken down. Sorry but I had my last hunt in there because of that.
At least 1st season is limited tags. There are animals, but it is steep and rugged. It usually will be very warm and they will be high.
If rainbow is a graded road...
I have been “interviewing” with outfitters for a while and have found a couple that will let me make payments at current year prices for a hunt in 2023.
It’s kind of a weird scenario for the outfitters and they don’t really want me to divulge who they are. Sorry about that.
I know this approach...

I know some of these folks and am curious if they are interested in “replacing” chainsaw use.
I feel like this org could be a good compromise beacause it upholds original intent of the law and helps local infrastructure. They get “free” advertising. I have no idea where...
My buddy got a gig north of Durango at around 8700’.
He is the year round salaried manager of a private lake community that is loaded with fish, gives him a house on the water, a boat, requires prescribed burns, and he has to “grow” lake trout that he feeds by hand off his porch. Oh, and there’s...
Sounds like my kind of hunt! I can't wait to run around that place. It kind of chunks up my elk archery season, but when would I ever get this chance again!
Interesting. Thank you. I appreciate it.
I'll fill in the rest of the story when I get it done.
So, I figured I'd never get to see CO 201 as a hunter unless I went after archery antelope doe. Not a highly sought after tag by most.
Well, I drew 1 of 5.
I also don't know a damn thing about hunting unit 201.
I've done rafting trips through Ladore and Dinosaur canyons. So, I drove the roads...
Please, please keep us updated as to what your hear. I'm at work and can't listen. I also know you and Wllm have learned how to translate the CPW dialect!
Maybe a real quick highlights in the state specific section?
Edit - I think I found the link. Jumped the gun a little bit
