Was lucky rather than good, but got it done. Magnus Stinger 4 Blade helped.

Thanks! Southern Minnesota, in the Minnesota River Valley. The Farm has been in the family since 1888. 300 acres of river bottom, ag-field and river bluffs.

Magnus 4 Blade helped me be lucky rather than good

on my home farm. Magnus worked like a dream on this buck. I got a bit excited and shanked the arrow left at 40 yards. Luckily the blade cut straight through the major artery in the neck, and he bled out very quickly. A couple inches lower and he would have walked away with nothing more than a...

Was lucky rather than good, but got it done. Magnus Stinger 4 Blade helped.

Got this buck down on the evening of 10/28 on my farm. 40 yard shot, slightly uphill. A shot I have practiced for months knowing that the chances of me getting into this position were good. Well, all the range time in the world didn't keep my heart from seeming like it was going to punch...

    First Timers- Wyoming

This...I would definately get online SOON and buy a preference point before the window closes. From one Minnesota guy to another, I would advise staying away from 24. There appears to be a lot more public than there actually is. We hunted there our first year on left over tags. About 95% of the...

    Road trip advice

I just like to imagine 3 adult hunters in a truck playing "I Spy With My Little Eye" and punching each other whenever you see a VW. Happy hunting.

2 weeks after a heart attack, Dad got it done

Oh, it got way worse! Luckily we were only 30 minutes from the hotel, and I spent the rest of the evening washing each cut of meat in the shower. Seemed to work well, though it looks like a grey-haired man got murdered in the tub when you are done....Cleaned it up of course.

2 weeks after a heart attack, Dad got it done

This was a tough hunt in Wyoming. Dad had a heart attack 12 days ago and was under severe orders to "take it easy." Snow and rain and limited public land made access very difficult. Fell my ass down into an Arroyo this morning and may have knocked our Scopes off-center. His brand new Tika T3...

    The Monuments Men

Let me tell you something. As a former US Forest Service employee and as someone who's worked in the private sector to advance oil pipeline plans, comments do mean something. Those that show up for those scoping meetings get their voices heard.

    First Pronghorn/Officially Addicted

That is awesome! Well earned too. Enjoy the many pronghorn hunts ahead of you now that you are hooked. I know how you feel. Also, way to get it done in SD. I need to hunt there one of these years.

    Wind River

Really that good huh? Will definitely have to check it out. Big fan of Renner anyhow, except for when he had the audacity to steal the Mens Journal cover photo from Land Tawney.

NFL players not standing for national anthem

This is the crux of it. I honestly don't care if a NFL team fires a player for disobeying a directive to stand. What concerns me, is he holder of the highest office in the United States, essentially demanding that it happen. That by definition of the 1st Amendment is unconstitutional.

NFL players not standing for national anthem

    1. This has nothing to do with veterans / soldiers I don't know why people continue to drag us into this kind of stupid stuff. It's like those public anti-wilderness folks saying what about the old people? What about the infirm? It's just a b******* excuse to try to swing people you're way...

Inconsiderate hunting partner decided to hava heart attack 12 days before WY Lope

I totally forgot about this episode! He's definitely going to be watching it in his hospital bed. Thanks everyone for the kind words and advice. He's scheduled to get out of the hospital today and then have a couple weeks of cardio therapy. I'm guessing the worst case scenario will that he'll...

Inconsiderate hunting partner decided to hava heart attack 12 days before WY Lope

Obviously a poor attempt at humor. My dad had a heart attack this weekend. 62 years old. Pack a day smoker for the last 40 years unfortunately. From the time he was able to pull his thoughts together all he asked about is how we can make sure we make it to Wyoming in 12 days. Got the blockage...

    What do look for??

I look for horns approaching twice the height of the ears. Its not really the truth most times, but it gives a idea of scale.
