Just picked this up, I'm only like 25% of the way through but I'm definitely enjoying it. Glad to see someone bringing this topic to a larger audience.
Awesome bull, great story! Pretty amazing to hear how he took those shots like they were nothing. Glad you did a writeup, even if you were pressured into it a little.
Shhh send them to Texas instead, there are no trout (or salmon) at NMU. And there are definitely no grouse either. Just a desolate wasteland. Winter 11 months of the year and mosquitos the other month
Can't say I'm too surprised. I had a few young wolves come up on me while I was working there in 2021. They were way more curious than the wolves I have seen in the UP. One got so close I almost thought I was gonna have to crack him on the head with my canoe paddle.

I honestly thought I misread the title at first. How the heck did it make it all the way down there without somebody spotting it? Whether it came from the UP or Wisconsin - pretty impressive.
Calhoun County?? Now that's an odd one. I can't help but be fascinated at the idea of a wolf in Southern Michigan at this point in time. Curious what will happen in the future.
Funny how similar a place can look, even if its hundreds of miles away. I need to make it over to the Shawnee this year, it looks beautiful from the pics I have seen.
Early meat eater I would be 100% with you. The stuff they've been putting out lately though, especially the side shows - not so much. Dramatically different from the tone and quality of the show when it started
