I'm hoping, may take a look and see if we can get the superformance to shoot in our 7-08s. The stuff I bought was loaded at 2.8" and at a lower pressure to be used in older firearms as I understand it. Bottom line I will just like whatever it likes.......just hope it's 3000 or over.
I put that out as the load it was shooting from the place I bought it from, I included that I wanted to push velocity a bit and hope to hit 3-3100. I hope to gain case capacity by lengthening the COAL. Though I will ask, what factory ammo is pushing that fast? Maybe I want that in my other...
I found at least two threads I created discussing various topics as I was working on my first custom made gun. I thought maybe some people remember helping me and maybe others will read this as a warning if they do the same without a clue like me.
My custom gun began life as a 700 mountain...
I had a buddy hit a pronghorn at over 400 yds and it didn't open up hardly at all. Everything worked out fine but the wound channel reminded me of a round ball muzzleloader. I think on thin skinned game like pronghorn it's just a bit too much.
****Very small sample size
You are correct that you can kill an elk with a deer tag, but only outside the zone. Almost every year there is one or two. Some from neighboring states etc.
Inside the zone they are highly protected and managed. Hence the drawing.
I had one in 30-30/12ga. It needed some work to get the scope mounts to fit right. Fun gun but I just ended up being limited with the 30-30. This was prior to leverevolution ammo or me being able to reload.
That was your first question. I'm sure you'll be a real smartass, but that is past tense and that is how she answered. But don't let the truth bother you, please continue.
I think one of the biggest blockades to additional funding is that the population centers in the east are not having their hunting affected like the rest of the country. Around the capitol beltway are some of the highest deer densities in the country. And that same scenario is very true from...
My son and I did one the last week of October. Butcher shops were already starting to slow up so that may be an issue to just double check on. The guy I used met us and got it done but we needed to coordinate it with him.
As far as hunting, they were grouped up for the winter. We actually...
I never did update on the injury. So after getting jerked around a bit at our local hospital we moved on to UVA and Duke. Because a non-throwing injury to a UCL is rare and even more rare in young kids, we were able to get in quickly at both places. In fact Duke put us to the front of a two...
Chalk it up to good Karma, still pretty impressive! Remember all of his other senses were working too. You weren't at full speed either. Instead of an eye for an eye it was an eye for a knee.
My younger son had a pretty good youth day. To set the stage, the day before, he was just given the news he tore his UCL ligament in a football game and is done for the season and heading for surgery. So needless to say he was down. In fact we put bipods on his rifle because he can't hold the...
