My sentiment exactly, he's talking about the whole dang lot of them.
Maybe this didn't strike a cord with others the way it did with me. I will say the sense of hopelessness and aggravation as a working class moderate American who just wants to be able to live a happy life comes through.
The...
I love my pop up. I do a fair amount of still hunting in our national forest and love that it collapses down pretty small while hunting in and around thick stuff. Then when the stars align its more than capable to hanfle a whole deer.
On a side note, I threw my back out quartering one up...
I'll triple that, I am shocked. But like he pointed out, he had no fat reserves. Seemed more than capable.
The guy with the pine marten sure seems capable but his moral delimmas are gonna get him a ticket home. No way I'm pulling snares.
Why aren't they targeting red squirrels like in...
Watched episode 2 again and noticed Jodi using an estwing axe. Maybe I've missed it but never noticed anyone with one in previous seasons, and always wondered why? Seems like the steel handle would trump all other designs in this situation. Or it would for me because I'm such a pessimist...
So is the consensus that the bears are not worth the hastle and to look elsewhere?
Slough Creek was always my go to. Be there at 5:30 and be first or second in line=spot. Not any more!
The stars have aligned and we are finally getting back out to Yellowstone for vacation this summer. Because of my job we can't plan very far ahead so the first come first serve spots in Yellowstone always worked perfectly. Then the flood and now a reservation system has us a bit scrambled. I...
For an update to anyone interested. I worked up a decent load with H4350 that is just under 3100 fps with 140 grain partitions. It shoots about 5/8" at 100 yds. I don't think I can shoot any better than that so I'm not gonna try.
Forgot to mention, a lease agreement won't trigger capital gains for your parents. And if you and your brother inherit it together it won't trigger inheritance tax. But everyone has to really trust each other.
If you can get them to finance it for you it can be beneficial to both parties. They can increase their take home and you could decrease your payment. You could also do a lease. This would give them income. It's shitty to say but at 80, you could inherit it before you spend the money on a loan.
Yes, but you can message him directly on here as well under user name schmalts. I just got donebl worrying him to death asking questions on thermals/night vision. Best in the business!
Yeah, I'm still around. Life's gotten a little crazy here. Nothing bad, just seems like it's particularly hectic. I still check in but am mostly a lurker. How's things in OH?
As mentioned, the only way for the state to open up private ground is to pay the going rate to lease it. I don't ever see this happening.
In my area of the state, guys used to come from many other states to hunt the national forest. I'd estimate the deer numbers are 1/4-1/2 what they were 30...
They might as well. In our county we can hunt from Aug-March anyway.......not being serious that I support it.
I don't think it will pass but things get more relaxed evey year. I just wish they'd extend rifle season like the eastern side of the state. Five weeks of muzzleloader and 2 weeks of...
