Think it also depends on the type of Danner. If I was on a budget, I could see buying a pair in their lines that are made in America, but their outsourced (made in China) lines are hot garbage.
I recently made the jump from Vasque and Danner to a pair of Kenetrek ME and they’re the most...
Thanks for sharing your story, and for being candid about what you did well and where you can improve. My first Colorado elk hunt was very similar; some close calls and we couldn’t connect, but all in all a fantastic trip.
I like Eagle Rare. My go-to budget bourbon (~$25) is Larceny. Mid-range (~$45) Basil Hayden’s. And if I’m looking to celebrate or splurge (~$80-100), it’s Jefferson’s Ocean or Whistle Pig.

I've owned a ton of packs over the years, for both hunting and backpacking. But I think the OP is specifically interested in the hunting variety, so I'll keep it focused on that.
Kuiu Icon Pro 7200 and Kifaru Reckoning
My first "hunting", or load-hauling pack, was a Kuiu Icon Pro 7200. I wore...
Yeah, some good threads on here and elsewhere on the internet. Just search for “backpack food options”, “backcountry food calories per ounce”, “backpack hunt food”. If you have a dehydrator it really opens up your options to make your own combinations.
