Emails sent to everyone on the list. Let's hope they are forced to listen due to the amount of feedback they all receive. I worry that if this passes it will be 12 auction tags now...60 by 2025...
Love me some Nosler bullets (and brass)! 150 grain partitions out of my .270 Win have been deadly on elk, whitetails, muleys and black bears for years. Since I really started hand-loading a couple years ago I have seen outstanding lethal performance on elk to pronghorn with the 140 grain...
Exactly my thoughts. Just take a look south to Utah and see what happened with their auction tags....Fee increases for residents to keep points and auction tags at bay= a very fair price to pay.
Idaho Fish and Game commissioners are considering offering five additional tags for auction including one each for elk, mule deer, mountain goat, pronghorn and moose and will decide on it during the commission’s next teleconference on Thursday, Feb. 4. The proposal is there for all to read. I...
Exactly what jryoung outlines X 2. Google is your friend, meaning if an area keeps popping up over and over in google searches as a top spot in xyz state it might be wise to look for an area not quite as well known. I enjoy going over the harvest/success stats and population estimates that most...
Nampa, ID? I live on the west edge of Meridian, almost Nampa. We are mostly here because we have family in the area (the wife wont go to AK, but has agreed on MT/WY at some point down the road) Nampa is not a bad place to be at all, good hunting and fishing options in most directions, Boise is...
Next couple months work on thinning the coyote population in my favorite deer unit.
Spring bear here in ID
Then hope the draw gods smile on us for WY, ID, CO
If not- hunt ID archery antelope, general deer, elk and maybe pick up a left over tag elk in MT or CO.
Very true on ownership changing and the name staying the same. I work for a company that was acquired by a massive corporation two years ago. They kept us as is name stayed the same, product offerings stayed etc- all because of the brand recognition in our sector of the market. Funny how we just...
My 2016 elk plan tentatively looks like this:
ID- Apply for high quality low draw odds controlled hunt, if no luck- hunt general season either archery or muzzy. Hoping my Dad can draw a tag this year, also the first year my wife is serious about hunting so adding her to the application. If any...
I was fortunate enough to harvest what I consider a solid buck- a heavy 4x4 w/eye guards, not the biggest on the mountain but he was good enough to go home with me.
Crappy cell phone pic
I am finally headed out on my deer hunt today. Since drawing the tag back in July I could hardly wait. Work has tired it's best to get in the way, but I am off for 4 days and should have a great hunt! Good luck to everyone else with tags still to fill!
I feel your pain Wally. I haven't mentioned it but my WPG pup had to be put down after just 5 weeks with us in August. Breeder was great to us, but telling my 3 kids their 1st puppy was gone about broke my heart. We have a new pup, but know that at some point we will go through it again...
Looking for ideas and recommendations. I realize this is pretty much an apples to oranges between a couple of these, but am hoping Hunttalk can steer me in the right direction. I have 3 scopes I am contemplating purchasing one of hopefully in the next week or so. Problem is no one locally...
