Hunting bobcats is also illegal now. Mountain lion hunting has been illegal for decades. It’s just a matter of time before bear and coyote hunting is illegal. This state is not hunter friendly 1 bit.
I’m out of here the second I can retire. Actually will start the process a year before. I’m 53. 6-7 more years to go in this insane place. I don’t bird hunt, but I will miss the excellent ocean fishing and the fishing in the upper Owens river. Other than that, screw this state and doubt...
Disturbing. This is a pain in the ass nobody needs. I think the first thing to do would be to go to the police and get a copy of the report. Seems to me this would be covered under the shop’s insurance.
I received the tent yesterday and set it up. Here is my take. Setup for myself is easy, and literally 15 mins taking it easy. Floor is super high quality. The stitching, poles and canvas appear to be more than adequate. The vents in the top are well protected from rain/snow. The stakes...

Shot one kinda like that in Central Co maybe 20+ years ago on a last day of season shot. Either no huevos, or really tiny ones. Did not inspect further. Lots of fat, and had a pretty heavy body. Was not in velvet, but antlers were more like blade shaped instead. Was a spike, but spikes were...
I honestly don’t understand folks not following hunting laws and just exercising decency. It’s really not hard. I’ve never bothered a land owner. Never got near hunting on private land that I did not have permission to hunt long ahead of hunting season. Trespassing ain’t ok. Breaking...
Nowadays, there is about zero excuse to not have a range finder. Most have angle compensators too. Having a range finder in the field coupled with practice at the range should be able to tell you what your max range is. It’s going to be different for everyone depending on cartridge, skill, weather.
I saw that article earlier this week. Made me do a double take, as I did not initially think that was a brookie pictured, but as another poster pointed out, that is a brookie tail. I've caught what I thought were nice brookies in the 15" class, in super skinny water in the high CA Sierras in...
