Yeah. or the fixed 4x scopes on a bunch of ww2 snipers.
It reinforces the idea that magnification doesn’t limit as much as i think a lot people think it does.
I always thought it was interesting there was some kind of 12lb rule for rifles but people can still essentially lock their rifle in a heavy tripod and shoot.
Interesting. Wouldn't effect me much. I guess the question is would it reduce take enough if only the law abiding folks are following the rule? I agree enforcement is ridiculous. I'd rather see an increase in fines for motorized stuff. Compared to non-resident tag prices I think its laughable.
I was just telling the wife how I did this several times as a tween/teen. Kept getting infected and wasn’t resolved until an actual podiatrist removed the root from both sides of both great toes.
I agree, but also think the superintendent is making a moral appeal in hopes of discouraging cumulative increased mortality of wolves outside the park. It feels kinda disingenuous or like a red herring.
Met a teenager whose mom told him to open fire on people in a similar situation. He got 6 new holes from LEOs. Went from impulsive teen to special needs. Mom lost custody big surprise.

I think with relatively light magazine fed semi autos and red dots/LPVOs, the traditional scout rifle is obsolete for its original use case.
The closest thing I’m interested in buying (outside of a handy lever action or pretty standard t3x) is a Shuff’s Mini-G in .35 whelen.
I have one I inherited from somehwere as well. It’s ridden in various vehicles as a backup for a couple decades. I’ve had some trouble getting it to keep an edge. Maybe I should take a closer look again if it’s served you that well.
I read his Buffalo book when it first came out and was pretty excited about it and his ability to communicate from a hunters perspective. Then I caught the first audio of him speaking on “BookTV” on CSPAN and was crestfallen. I was sure this guy wasn’t going anywhere in visual/audio media...
Of what you have I’d carry (and have carried) the .357 with hard cast bullets second to bear spray. One thing to consider ammo wise are Lehigh defens extreme penetrator bullets. They’re lighter, penetrate almost as much as hard cast, and create some soft tissue damage.
But using different...
