Nikon Prostaff on a 300 win mag question
Last I heard Nikon was still offering a limited warranty on recently purchased scopes before the stopped making them but it sounded like a hassle. Lots of decent upgrades out there if it is a bad scope. -

I've had a a few of those in the past and had mostly good luck with them. One even held up on a 338win. Does it happen to be a Savage rifle that came as a package with that scope mounted? If so, I've seen several of those with loose bases and rings over years. That was usually the problem 9/10... -

Cleaning out the safe today and I have a few optics that I don't feel I'll ever use. 2x Leupold Mark 3HD 6-18x50 Side Focus with TMR reticle. Both have the box still and were loosely set in rings on rifles but never fired or taken outdoors. Still good as new in my opinion. 1x Sig Tango 4...- 454

Tikka .300 WM Elk Ammo
The 1:10 is definitely tighter out to 400 on paper but the 1:11 is still perfectly accurate for any hunting I do. Beyond 400 I'm never really measuring groups just hitting steel at random ranges. I didn't need the new rifle but my messed up shoulder appreciates the muzzle brake.- 454
